Band Bio:
Named after their childhood park, Lynhurst’s musical roots run far and deep. Growing up in a musical household with a basement full of instruments, brothers Matt Abdo and Jake Abdo began writing and performing as pre-teens. They recorded 3 CDs and performed retro-tinged garage rock numbers at local festivals, rock clubs and blues bars, with a permit that allowing them in, throughout junior and senior high school. About the time the boys secured their driver’s licenses, Mari, who had been more interested in painting, drawing and creative writing than her brothers rock and roll, put down the paint brush and grabbed a pair of drumstick. Starting as back up singer to Jake, Mari’s vocal prowess grew as she became more comfortable with the lime light and matured as a songwriter until she assumed all lead singing duties. The sibling’s recordings and performances helped twice earn them the Minnesota Music Academy Teen Artists of the Year Award and also admission into the inaugural GRAMMY® Camp class.
