An Inconvenient
Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems
Glenn Beck
|
| Book
Review: |
|
TV and radio host Glenn Beck addresses a lot of
issues in An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to
the World's Biggest Problems. He brings his conservative
political views to global warming, Islamic fundamentalism,
the media and education, among others.
Beck brings a lot of factual knowledge and quotes
to the book, providing strong evidentiary support
for his opinions.
"But Gore's apocalyptic yet tropical (apocatropical)
vision of the future was based on a water level
rise that is about 17 times higher than what the
United Nations International Panel on Climate Control
is expecting. In fact, it's even five times higher
than the high end of the worst-case scenario
painted by scientists who thought the UN report
was too conservative," Beck writes.
He also includes pictures, facts and funny addendums,
which he calls his A.D.D. Moment.
An Inconvenient Book is formatted like a textbook,
and while it does have an informative, at times
scholarly bent, it does retain some of the humor
that characterizes Beck's TV and radio shows. An
Inconvenient Book is a good choice for conservatives
who want to learn more about topical issues, but
it probably won't find a fan base with left-leaning
readers.
