(
October
5, 2008) - A Pop Culture Madness writer journeyed
into the deep jungles and plains of ... New York?! ...
and spent a wonderful afternoon at the Bronx Zoo. Whether
you're a couple or a family looking for a affordable
day outside, we think you need to trek up to The Bronx
Zoo and have yourself an adventure (and maybe learn
a thing or two!)
A REVIEW:
These pictures speak for themselves!
I get it, they're so much more interesting than reading
this babble. To be brief, we enjoyed a wonderful day
at the Bronx Zoo! It's schedule is convenient and is
open 7 days a week, don't let anything deter you from
heading over to this amazing facility! The map of the
zoo was easy to read and quite fun to pick and choose
what animals to go see! (Warning: It may take more than
a day to hit everything! It's a big place. Bring those
walking shoes!)
Families, couples, young teens and class field trips
littered the zoo to learn and watch the incredible animals
that live in the Bronx. There is something for everyone,
if you're a reptile lover, a bird lover or just an all-around
animal lover, you'll be satisfied. It was so amazing
(and a relief) to see how well these dazzling creatures
are treated at the Bronx Zoo. They all had plenty of
room and very complex habitats to make sure they felt
right at home. From the Congo Gorilla Forest to the
monorail ride, which were my favorite attractions, each
section of the park is enjoyable, clean and presented
beautifully! To make things even more fun, plan to come
away with 3-5 things you never knew before you even
go into the Zoo, we gaurantee you'll learn a lot and
have fun doing it!

Pictures From Our Wild
Adventure:
|
Take a ride on a monorail through the Asia Wildlife
Exhibit - it crosses high over a freshwater river!
Wave hello to a few Asian elephants from the monorail!
Perhaps you're more of a bird lover, check out these
super pink flamingos!
Our favorite moment at the zoo occurred when
these magestic lions actually got up and began to roar!
It was so loud and incredibly cool to watch. It reminded
our PCM writer just how wild these animals really are,
they aren't called the King of the Jungle for nothing!

Kissane
Julie Kissane began her entertainment news career as a
PCM intern! After graduating from the University of Delaware,
she traveled the world hoping to find her celebrity crush,
Mr. David Beckham (okay, not really). She returned
home and is back at the PCM office! She nonchalantly reads
tabloids and trash magazines as often as one may check
the weather report each morning. Julie also writes reviews
for many of our live concert shows. She also writes and
records entertainment news at a local radio station!
Now that she's an experienced Bronx Zoo go-er, any questions
or comments regarding the Zoo experience can be directed
to her at her e-mail address above!
PopCultureMadness would like to thank the special
people at The Bronx Zoo and Electric Artists for making
this fabulous adventure possible!

PCM's Favorite Picture: The giraffes were out
enjoying a day in the wide grassy area that the Bronx
Zoo has provided for these huge animals! Don't you feel
like you're on a safari?

This grizzly bear was able
to be seen from a super close distance. It was thrilling
yet pretty intimidating, don't mess with those bears!

This rare lemur was featured
along with several other types of lemurs and animals from
a little place called Madagascar. The Bronx Zoo is currently
hosting a great Madagascar exhibit on its grounds!
