Dionne Warwick is a legendary singer and performer. She's been active since the mid-sixties, and hasn't stopped since. I was terribly excited to find out that she was actually coming to a venue near me. I was waiting in anticipation for about a half hour, until the lights dimmed and they announced her out. She came strutting out in a shimmery blue pant-suit and a white robe. The crowd was on their feet, cheering. I heard some people waited almost thirty years to see her live. Finally, here she was.

She thanked everyone for coming, and asked the audience to pray for her sister, singer Dee Dee Warwick, who has fallen seriously ill. Then she began the night with "Jesus Loves Me," which her version appears on her newest gospel album, "Why We Sing." Then she performed her classic, Bacharach anthem, "What The World Needs Now Is Love." She had everyone singing along.

She also performed, "Deja Vu," "Then Came You," "Walk On By," "Reservations For Two," and closed the show with "That's What Friends Are For." Also performing that night were her friends, The O'Jays, Jean Carn, Melba Moore, Freddie Jackson, and more. Dionne Warwick proved that at 67, if you have it you have it. She was fantastic, and put on such a wonderful show.
