Natasha Bedingfield/Kate Voegele/The Veronicas, 6/16/08, The Fillmore at the TLA, Philadelphia, PA by: Julie

The inside of Philadelphia's Fillmore, the famous South Street venue, echoed with the cheering and laughter of a very varied crowd. I felt lucky to weasel my way into the sold out show and see three great acts. Little girls jumped up and down with their friends, boyfriends were dragged to the show by their girlfriends, and fathers held their daughters so they could get a better look at the stage. Australian duo, The Veronicas, took to the intimate stage first and rocked the crowd. The tiny, 5 foot nothing twins in matching ripped t-shirts performed songs like, "Popular," and "This Is How It Feels," as the crowd waved their hands happily in the air. The Veronicas, aka Lisa and Jess, hit a high moment while performing the crowd favorite, "4ever." The powerful voices that came out of these petite performers were certainly impressive.

The excitement continued to build as Kate Voegele took to the stage. The 21 year old newcomer had fans smiling and clapping as she performed hits off her latest album and songs they've heard from her appearance on the CW show, "One Tree Hill." In between songs, Voegele kept reminding fans that she was so lucky to be on this tour and how grateful she was for their support at the show. I could tell she was truly humbled and appreciative she was for the opportunity to tour. What a sweetheart! I've had some of Kate's songs on my iPod for a month or two now and I'm happy to report that she performs them live effortlessly.

Natasha Bedingfield rocked the house as she took to the stage in leather pants and a zebra t-shirt. Fans went crazy as she entertained them with songs like, "Single," "These Words," and her newest single, "Pocket Full of Sunshine." Natasha's confidence and outgoing personality radiated through the crowd and impressed my friend and I very much. All three acts were fabulous and I think concert-goers were truly satisfied.

I realized as I left the show that I shouldn't worry about the types of fans that were there, big or small, old or young. I stopped trying to figure out a specific fanbase. It was obvious that the people who came out all had one thing in common; they all appreciated the raw talent that each of these acts shared and a love of watching a good live music show.
