► There are a lot of reasons to celebrate the July 1 release
of Night Ranger's
Hole in the Sun, notably that it marks the band's first studio
album in a decade and commemorates the pioneering hard rock
outfit's 25th anniversary as a band. The best reason, as has
been the case throughout Night Ranger's heralded career, is
to celebrate the music itself. Night Ranger is also on tour.
► The summer of 2008 belongs to
John Mayer, with the release of Where The Light Is:
John Mayer Live in Los Angeles on July 1st, a two month amphitheatre
tour to kick off in July, as well as a feature on the cover

► Grammy winning artist Killer
Mike releases the second part of Grind series with

► From Matt Keating
comes the 23-track double disc album Quixotic. Matt Keating's
music is often labeled Americana, but it is in fact inspired
by a broad range of influences; traditional country, old school

sound that splits the difference between folk-rock and power
pop, and favored words and music over angst and posture.

the E Street Band's 'Magic Tour Highlights' on July 15 via
all digital download stores, including the iTunes Store. The
release will consist of four audio tracks with four accompanying
videos, all recorded live in concert during the 'Magic' tour.
Sales of these downloads, the artists, songwriters, and music
publishers are waiving all of their royalties, and Columbia

► Toby Lightman
is set to release her new album Let Go on her own T Killa Records
on July 15, 2008. "Let Go" will be the title track
from the album will be the soundtrack for the Home Shopping
Network's "Come On In" advertising campaign. Not only
will her songs be heard on HSN, she will also be one of the
first independent artists to perform and sell her album on the
channel.
► Pop and R&B singer/songwriter Shontelle, the latest artist to come out of the Caribbean
musical atmosphere, releases her first single, "T-Shirt",
nationwide on July 15th, with a full length album on the way.
► Sweedish industrial rap-rock band Clawfinger
is releasing their new album, Life Will Kill You, from Locomotive

Jesse James Dupree is releasing his new album, Rev It

► Italian singer/songwriter Elisa

The album's title track has been featured on the TV Show "So
You Think You Can Dance,"and the single has since been

► John Mellencamp's
eagerly anticipated new album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom,

Canada, as well as traditional music retailers. Mellencamp has
characterized the album as a collection of "modern electric
folk songs."
► They were the most in-demand of all
the session players - Guitarist Cornell Dupree, bassist Gordon
Edwards, drummer Steve Gadd, guitarist Eric Gale and keyboardist
Richard Tee probably played on most of the albums you bought
in the 1970's and beyond. Yet, when they convened as
Stuff, an all-instrumental funk-jazz-pop-rock-soul
machine, they had an inherent chemistry all their own. Their
only Montreux Jazz Festival appearance came in 1976, and they
did not disappoint. Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce

► Jay
Brannan announces the highly anticipated release of
his debut album, goddamned, due out July 1st (digital) /July
15 (cd). The debut was recorded at Los Angeles' famed Village
Recording Studios with producer Will Golden (Meiko). Brannan
has decided to release the album through his own Great Depression

► Ace Young,
who was a finalist on American Idol Season 5, will release his

Ace's album is a collaborative effort with the legendary Desmond
Child (Aerosmith, Ricky Martin, Backstreet Boys) and many other
renowned writers including Andreas Carlson and Diane Warren.
Ace says working with Desmond Child was "a dream. He wrote
the music I grew up with and loved." Both Desmond and Ace
shared the album costs equally, while making Desmond Executive
Producer. Ace Young is a Rock/R&B/Funk collaboration drawing
from Ace's experiences and observations of life.
Ace co-wrote 7 of the 11 songs on his album with one song "You
Redeem Me," written specifically for Ace by the legendary
Diane Warren. Ace is currently traveling the states on an extensive
promotional tour on behalf of his upcoming CD; he most recently
guest starred on The FOX Network's hit show, Bones.
► Bajofondo
will make a number of rare U.S. appearances, including a June
11 date at Los Angeles' El Rey Theater. A string of summer festival
and theater dates will follow in August, with confirmed shows
on August 3 in San Francisco at the Urban Grove Festival, August
15 at New York's Central Park Summerstage, and on August 27
at Millennium Park in Chicago.
As on their earlier recordings, "Mar Dulce" sees Bajofondo's
seven virtuosic musicians lead listeners through a sensual soundscape
of tango, trip-hop, drum & bass and pop elements that redefine
the essence of tango for the 21st century. This newest installment
in the Bajofondo oeuvre features guest performances by Elvis
Costello, Nelly Furtado, Julieta Venegas, Gustavo Cerati, Ryota
Komatsu, La Mala Rodriguez, Santullo, Juan Subira and the final
recorded performance by legendary Uruguayan tango diva Lagrima
Rios.

► R&B star Lloyd will return to the game with

► Hybrid is the first album from Montreal's
elsiane - the

The legendary chart topping career of Little
Richard is capsulated in the new 25 track album The
Very Best of Little Richard. The singer took music to a new
level with the pounding piano, the high voice and trills,
and the sexually suggestive lyrics starting with his 1955
hit "Tutti Fruitti."
► There are only a handful of rock artists that have proven
to be as enduring and influential as Alice
Cooper has over the years. Name just about any hard
rock artist, and they've probably borrowed a thing or two from
Alice. And on his latest studio recording, Along Came A Spider,
Alice has returned with a concept album with a sinister streak.

► Scars on Broadway, the long-awaited collaboration
between guitarist-frontman Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan,
both best known for their work in the multi-Platinum-selling,
Grammy-winning band System of a Down, have signed with Interscope
Records and will see their self-titled debut released on July
29. With Malakian sitting in the Scars' producer chair, he and
Dolmayan entered the studio last September, recorded nearly
two-dozen songs for the album, and then whittled down the final
track listing to 14 songs.
Different from the chaotic/alt/metal sound of SOAD, the Scars
tracks are more song-based and showcase Malakian's varied
writing style, from the simmering rock sound of "World
Long Gone" to the melodic yet desolate "Universe."
And "They Say," the first track leaked to the public,
is heavy, but in more of a 1970's punk fashion. Some of the
other confirmed tracks include "Enemy," "Stoner
Hate," "Babylon," and "Cute Machines."
Scars on Broadway has already played a handful of live shows,
including Coachella 2008, where the Los Angeles Times singled
them out as "one of the festival's hottest highlights."
Scars plans to tour extensively to support the new album.
