 ► Johnny Foreigner announced the U.S. release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Waited Up 'Til It Was Light, in stores this October on Nettwerk Records.

 ► Singer L.P. is releasing her third album due out from SoBe Entertainment. In the mean time be sure to check out her single "Good With You" and "Cling To Me," availible on both audio and video.
October 7th
► Shangri-La Music is proud to announce the newest album by one of rock's seminal bands with the release of The Pretenders' Break Up The Concrete. The ninth in the band's illustrious career and its first in 6 years, has band leader Chrissie Hynde collaborating with a new group of musicians.

Red Car Wire is young pop-punk band from Dallas TX raising hell on tour in support of their new EP, Let's Never Get Old.

Hey Monday is the first joint venture project for Pete Wentz's Decaydence and Columbia Reocrds, who will be putting out the bands first full-length, Hold on Tight, on Oct. 7th.

►Three years after she began to appear on the public’s radar with her self-titled debut EP and full-length album Happenstance, Rachael Yamagata will release A Record in Two Parts: Elephants…Teeth Sinking Into Heart through Warner Bros.  ► Closer: The Best Of Sarah McLachlan contains 14 classic tracks personally selected by the artist from her award-winning catalog, as well as two newly recorded and previously unreleased songs, "U Want Me 2" and "Don't Give Up On US."

 
 ► Bob Dylan releases Tell Tale Signs – the 8th installment in the best-selling and critically lauded Bootleg Series which launched 1991 - by Columbia Records on October 7. It features previously unreleased recordings and alternate versions of tracks from sessions which generated some of Bob Dylan’s most acclaimed and commercially successful albums from the last two decades, including Time Out Of Mind, “Love And Theft”, Modern Times and Oh Mercy.

  ► American heartland singer-songwriter and pianist Jon McLaughlin – whose show-stopping live performance of “So Close,” the Oscar-nominated song from the Disney movie Enchanted, was seen world¬wide during the 80th annual Academy Awards ceremonies – has returned with OK NOW, his second album for Island Records, due October 7th.

Oren Lavie releases his brand new album, The Opposite Side Of The Sea.

 ► Columbia Records is releasing AC/DC's widely-anticipated Black Ice on October 20th, the band’s first studio album in eight years.
October 21st
► Moppy headed adolescent looking genius. Brett Dennen rolls with the likes of Mayer and Butler. He's about to step into the spotlight with his second album release, Hope for the Hopeless and a mini fall tour.
October 28th
Susan Tedeschi writes and records her most personal album to date with the help Roots Rock Royalty. The release on Verve Forcast titled "Back To The River" will hit stores today.


►An L.A. based band called The 88 is releasing thier new album "Not Only... But Also" containing songs featured on Gossip Girl and Extra.


Toby Keith's newest album "That Don't Make Me A Bad Guy" will hit stores today! The album contains 11 new tracks including the hit song "She Never Cried in Front of Me".

SNOW PATROL (MySpace) will release A Hundred Million Suns (Polydor/Fiction/Geffen Records) on October 28th 2008. The album is preceded by the fantastic single "Take Back The City", which comes with a video shot in East London courtesy of acclaimed video director Alex Courtes (White Stripes "Seven Nation Army").
Gary Lightbody (vocals/guitars) says, ""I'm so proud of this record. Everybody played out of their skin. Garret (Jacknife Lee) continued his progression from maverick genius to one of the best producers in the world. Musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we've made"
The Grammy-nominated band's fifth studio album was recorded throughout the Summer of 2008 in Hansa Studios in Berlin (where Bowie recorded "Low," "Heroes" and "Lodger") and at Grouse Lodge deep in the Irish countryside. Written by Snow Patrol, the album was produced by Garret "Jacknife" Lee (Bloc Party, REM, U2)

 

► "First Rodeo" the debut album from honeyhoney will be released digitally today! The album was produced by label co-owner Jude Cole at Ironworks Recording Studio in Silverlake, CA. Their first single, “Little Toy Gun” has just been shipped to radio and the highly anticipated video for the track is out now. Filmed last spring, this is the music video directorial debut of label co-owner Kiefer Sutherland who also appears in the clip. Sutherland recently shot videos for Lifehouse and Rocco DeLuca.

► As 007 fans eagerly await the November 14 U.S. opening of MGM’s new James Bond film, "QUANTUM OF SOLACE, " Capitol/EMI announces an expanded CD, CD/DVD and digital release of "The Best Of Bond… James Bond" on October 28. The CD and digital album both feature 23 musical standouts from the Bond franchise'’s 46 years plus a previously unreleased bonus track, and the CD/DVD includes five music videos, a filmed concert performance and more.

Boz Scaggs offers his second volume of standards and ballads titled "Speak Low" on October 28, 2008. To support the release, Boz will be stopping by intimate jazz clubs around the country starting on the Oct. 28 at the Napa Valley Opera House in California.

► San Francisco's Von Iva special mix of musical madness and their distinctive blend of electro-pop-rock executed by synths, drums, and gritty soulful vocals is beautifully showcased on their new EP, Girls on Film (Oct. 28, self-released). The 6 song set features some tracks from their 2007 CD Our Own Island (i.e., "LALA," "Birds of Prey," and "Guise") and some new songs (i.e., "Living For It," "Emerald Eyes," and "Electricity.") Not only will Von Iva rock your world on stages across America this Fall, they are set to rock it on the Hollywood big screen when they make their movie debut playing the band that Zooey Deschanel fronts in her new film with Jim Carrey, Yes Man, out December 19, 2008. Von Iva also wrote the song “Yes Man” specifically for the film and it will run over the end credits.

► Late October, The Knux are releasing their debut album, Remind me in 3 Days..., that sounds like Outkast, Juvenile, Tha Pharcyde, and The Strokes concurrently blasting, out of a drop-top Jag on Sunset Blvd. on a Saturday night in the summer. Wrap your head around that.

► Canadian rock band, State Of Shock, releases their debut album, Life, Love & Lies in the U.S. Their single "Money Honey" is already making the round on the radio.

► Columbia Records will release two special edition CDs featuring career-spanning repertoire from Celine Dion, the biggest selling female artist of all time. My Love Essential Collection is a single disc featuring 17 songs, consisting of Celine’s biggest hits, rarities and crowd-pleasers including I'm Alive, Power of the Dream, the brand-new never-released There Comes A Time, and My Love. ► Alternative Country Rocker Ryan Adams kicks off Cardinology with a tour starting with an appearance on David Letterman on October 29th.

► New York’s O’Death will release their new album, Broken Hymns, Limbs and Skins on October 28th via Kemado Records, their new U.S. home.

► Grammy winning, platinum-selling singer P!nk will soon return to radio airwaves with her newest single, "So What." The anthemic song is the lead single from her forthcoming fifth studio album entitled, Funhouse , set for release on October 28th.
