Brandi Carlile is releasing her album Live in Boston, an iTunes exclusive EP. This EP will feature a handful of Brandi’s tracks, as well as a cover of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues. The EP also comes with a live video exclusive.

On her album, The Story, Brandi Carlile opens up her heart, soul, and psyche in a series of memorable songs that invite you into her world. To her community of fans, it's Carlile's revelatory imagery, stark emotive vocals and finely-detailed songs which provide the keys to who she is, where she's been, and where's she's going. As the album jumped from its #76 debut to #41 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart in the two weeks of its April 3, 2007 release, the majority of Brandi's concerts along her North American spring tour route began selling out. The Story peaked at #2 on the iTunes album sales chart, and more than a year after its release, is currently #17 on iTunes album chart and #33 on Amazon’s album chart.

The Story by Brandi Carlile is currently featured in General Motor’s Summer Olympics advertising spot. Premiering during the opening ceremonies, the ad showcases many of GM’s alternative fuel solutions, including hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells and the much-anticipated Chevy Volt, the extended-range electric vehicle designed to move over 75% of America’s daily commuters without a single drop of gas.

It’s fitting that Brandi Carlile’s The Story is featured in this ad as Ms. Carlile is a committed environmentalist. In fact, Carlile has pledged all proceeds she earns from the advertisement to be donated to environmental charities. She writes, "Keeping people employed in the US and building fuel-efficient/alternative cars could help reduce and one day help eliminate our dependency on foreign oil.
