In
2012, a rare and possibly Earth-shattering astrological alignment
is due to occur that will precipitate a cataclysmic event. Whatever
is in store -- a massive cosmic collision, a global environmental
disaster, an Armageddon-like religious showdown, or a more subtle
transformation -- there have been multiple predictions from different
times and cultures that December 21, 2012 will mark a major shift
in the history of our planet.
NOSTRADAMUS:
2012 takes a detailed investigation of this chilling prophecy.
This explosive two-hour sequel picks up where The Lost Book of Nostradamus
left off. NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 seeks answers to key critical questions
that may loom in just four years: Is there any modern scientific
proof that such an alignment will indeed happen? Is any other compelling
evidence throughout history that 2012 will be a year of unprecedented,
even deadly, upheaval?
There is no disputing that we are a planet in crisis, and that
there is a growing public obsession with 2012. But there is no cogent
distinction between the sobering facts and hysterical fiction. What,
if any, is the scientific ballast that substantiates the fears?
NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 will look for the parallels between the nightmarish
daily headlines and the 2012 prophecies from Nostradamus and others.
From the mystical realms of the Guatemalan jungles to the high-tech
corridors of NASA; from the Hopi elders and Mayan shaman to the
most respected thinkers of the modern age; from the symbology of
the ancient pyramids in Mexico and Egypt to that of the gothic cathedrals
and monuments of Europe -- the 2012 doomsday warning will be cast
in a frighteningly modern context. December 21, 2012 is bearing
down on us with alarming speed - and whether or not we are able
to collectively heed the warnings and affect a course to avert disaster
may be the defining moment of the modern age.

Ice
Road Truckers - This new season follows some of the truckers
from last season, along with new drivers, as they haul essential
equipment and supplies to remote outposts across one of the world's
last great frontiers, the vaunted winter ice road that runs over
the frozen Arctic Ocean and the Mackenzie River in the farthest
reaches of the Northwest Territories. The long history of survival
here during the grueling winter months has been and still is dependent
on these ice roads. Although technology has changed how they deal
with the titanic forces of nature of the Arctic Circle, the native
people of the region still live by their traditions and rich history.

AX
MEN every Sunday, at 10pm. From History and Original
Productions, the same team responsible for the mega hit, Ice Road
Truckers, this series looks at the legacy that the pioneers of our
country laid for the present and future generations of loggers.
Over
the course of thirteen episodes, Ax Men follows four logging crews
through a season in the remote forests of northwest Oregon. Plagued
by mechanical failures, relentless weather-including a hurricane
that ripped through the area- and violent and unpredictable terrain,
these brave men risk their lives retrieving the very timber we depend
upon to build our country. Snapped cables, runaway logs and treacherous
machinery are among the many dangers that threaten the lives and
safety everyday. Anything and everything can go wrong on these sites
and the price of even the simplest mistake can mean death.
Everything is Tougher in Alaska. From earning a living to
burying the dead, everyday life here has always been shaped by severe
weather, rugged terrain and vast distances between communities.
The people who call Alaska home have a long history of overcoming
adversity and adapting to their extreme environment. Host Geo Beach,
who has lived in Alaska for more than 25 years, is on a quest to
find out what it really takes to survive and thrive in Alaska.
Jurassic Fight Club A dinosaur's life was not easy. Volatile
pre-historic terrain, harsh climate conditions, insufficient food
and water, as well as unrelenting enemy predators made survival
anything but a given. With cutting edge forensics leading to new
discoveries every day, researchers are gaining remarkable insight
into the psychology and physiology of these ancient beasts.
The new series brings the history of dinosaurs and their epic encounters
to life like never before seen with astonishing CGI, illustrating
the characteristics that made some the hunters and others the game.
