The Science Channel - Brink - Beginning this week, Science Channel's Monday night science information series BRINK is joining forces with Popular Mechanics to bring the popular "Abusive Lab Test" series from the magazine's pages to the television screen. In the first "Abusive Lab Test" segment, Zepps, Derene and Porges have some information-packed fun testing ruggedized cell phones, a new generation of phones designed to withstand water, sand, heat and general impact damage. The group simulates everyday disasters by stepping on and dropping three different brands of phone on the ground or in water and then gauging how well each works. The guys also give viewers a surprisingly helpful hint for reviving your cell phone if it's ever unexpectedly dropped in water. Other segments on this episode of BRINK include: a visit to the M.I.T. Media Lab where Dr. David Merrill is developing a cutting-edge, cookie-sized computer called siftables that may forever change how humans and computers interact; and an exciting recap of the 2009 Maker Faire held in San Mateo County, Calif. this past May. CMT - CMT's Top 20 Countdown a two and a half-hour weekly countdown show, hosted by CMT's Lance Smith, delivers country music's hottest artists and rising stars with interviews and world video premieres. This week's episode is jam-packed with four bonus videos, including Trailer Choir's tribute to curvy ladies in "Rockin' the Beer Gut," and Sugarland and the B-52s' collaboration of "Love Shack" from the 2009 CMT Music Awards. CMT - Can You Duet - This week, Big Kenny mentors the six remaining duos before their performance on stage at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon. CMT - The Singing Bee - This new CMT series tests contestants' knowledge of lyrics to well-known songs and those who fail to accurately sing the correct lyrics are eliminated from the competition. Pulled from the audience during an electrifying opening sing-along, six lucky music lovers compete against each other by singing some of America's favorite songs. From classic country oldies to today's biggest radio hits, the contestants need to know it all. Sometimes they'll need to sing a missing line, other times they'll have to fill in lyrics on our karaoke scroll, and they'll even need to know entire choruses, all on their own. TNT - Dark Blue stars Dylan McDermott as Carter Shaw the leader of an undercover police team. Carter Shaw is a deeply wounded character struggling with the loss of his wife and fromer life. Dark Blue premieres at 10/9c.

 

Comedy Central - Michael and Michael Have Issues stars Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter in a new twist on narrative and sketch comedies that features the long-time comedic partners as the hosts of their own fictitious sketch show. Premieres July 15 at 10:30p.m. (ET/PT).

Science Channel - Catch It Keep It - The challengers decide to build a counter weight net system to try and catch a motorized Fly Scooter as it propels itself off an 80 foot ramp, 26 feet off the ground, at 40 MPH. Unknown final velocity and impact force have this team scrambling to design a foolproof scooter catcher. But in order to get the net built on time, the team must first deal with their explosive tempers that could cause this team to crumble. Catch It Keep It premieres July 17 at 10p.m. (ET/PT).

Hosted by CMT Radio personality Cody Alan, the segments celebrate achievements related to the film as well as the biggest country artists, both past and present. Complete with No. 1 music videos and movie facts, the show also features musical guests and special interviews with stars from the movie of the week. This week's film, "Urban Cowboy," stars John Travolta as a young man from the country who learns about life and love in a Houston bar. It's only fitting that a big family with a love of music meet a musician with a big voice. The Duggars are at Dollywood to meet Dolly Parton. And what will the Duggars and Dolly do when they meet?
