Flowers
Uncut With Jeff Leatham
This
new 12 part docu-series revolves around premiere artistic director
and floral designer Jeff Leatham. Each back-to-back half-hour
episode chronicles Leatham's fast-paced lifestyle and goes behind-the-scenes
as he tries to build his own floral empire and conquer the New
York event design scene.
Each week, Leatham and his design assistant Mat face drama
and obsticles as they take on a new event. From an extravagant
wedding at the Waldorf Astoria and an event at Versailles
in Paris, to a Victoria's Secret event and a Medieval-themed
children's party, Leatham proves he can create a floral masterpiece
for any occasion.
"Jeff is truly one of a kind in the floral design landscape,"
explains Nancy Daniels, SVP of Production and Development,
TLC. "His dynamic personality coupled with his unprecedented
talent to create magic with flowers is just fascinating to
watch."
As the Artistic Director for the Four Seasons Hotels- based
in the George V in Paris - Leatham has been creating a sensation
with his floral designs since he first started working with
flowers in 1995 at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. Voted
Best Hotel Florist in Europe for the last three years, his
expertise, without any formal training, continues to garner
praise in Paris, London and New York. Design houses such as
Alexander McQueen, Phillip Treacy, Swarovski Crystal, Givenchy
and Burberry and D. Porthault have commissioned Leatham's
signature styling.
Leatham's work combines his love for flowers and aesthetics,
and his passion for design. His creations are bold statements
using shapes, color and simplicity to produce a dramatic effect
and are often compared to modern art. In July 2007, he created
exquisite décor for the wedding of Eva Longoria and
Tony Parker. His clientele list also includes Tina Turner,
Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, the Dalia Lama, Suzy Menkes
and President Bill Clinton.
"We could not think of a more perfect home for this
series than TLC," states Original Media CEO Charlie Corwin.
"Jeff's amazing lifestyle and awe-inspiring creations
are something to behold. Watching this master of his field
use his flair to conquer the biggest event stage--New York
City --really lends itself to compelling television programming.
If the incredible events we have already captured are any
indication, Flowers Uncut with Jeff Leatham will no doubt
be a hugely buzzed about program."
King
of The Crown
See
the unseen world behind the hairspray and glam as this series
gives you a look behind the scenes of pageants. The show revolves
around veteran pageant expert Cy Frakes, who has been coaching
aspiring beauty queens for over 20 years.
This pageant world that continues to inigue many Americans
is estimated to be an over a billion dollar a year industry.
TLC goes inside the world of competitive beauty pageants with
Cy's pageant training business, Gowns and Crowns, as his team
helps clients prepare everything from their walk, their talk,
their hair, and everything else down to the dress. The premiere
episode features the now infamous Caitlin Upton, the former
Miss Teen USA South Carolina who could not give a coherent
answer during the question portion of the competition and
became a YouTube sensation, generating over 35 million views.
In the premiere, Cy attempts to prepare the most parodied
teen queen for a comeback to the pageant stage. He wants to
not only redeem Caitlin's image, but also prove his business
can deliver pageant-perfect women.
The team behind South Carolina's premiere pageant coaching
business Gowns and Crowns is made of more then just owner
Cy. Behind the sequins and the smiles are: Amanda Helen Pennekamp,
a pageant competitor who helps train the aspiring title holders
to perfect everything from their walk to their self confidence;
Kyle Taylor works as the booking agent scheduling appointments
and wants to follow in Cy's footsteps; Shane Mason is the
interview coach and part time referee amongst the staff.
"King of The Crown brings all the fun and excitement
of the pageant world with a lot of southern charm," says
TLC SVP Production and Development, Nancy Daniels. "Cy
is a great personality who is not only entertaining, but a
real expert in his field. The series has the perfect balance
of high stakes and heart. It also further builds out our pageant
programming."
"The series definitely captures the essence of who I
am and what I do," says Frakes. "KING OF THE CROWN
has a lot of humor but also shows that we deal with broken
heels, broken nails and, of course, broken hearts. We prepare
girls beyond a superficial level; we prepare them to over
come any challenge in life."
Wedded
to Perfection
Wedded
to Perfection will follow the charismatic husband and wife team,
Jung Lee and Josh Brooks, who together own Fete, New Yorks premiere
wedding and event planning business. Six episodes of the hour
long series have been ordered and will premiere only on TLC.
Two events ranging from a spectacular wedding to a annuversay
party to remember will be featured on each episode. The stakes
and budgets are high, so the pressure is always on to create
the perfect event. Jung and Josh are responsible for everything
from location, flowers, invites, and every other detail, big
or small. The icing on the cake is that not only do Josh and
Jung work togethers, but they are a real life married couple
as well who have to harmonize both in life and their business–
which is difficult with Jung's perfectionist ways and Josh's
mild temper. Will they be able to consistently make the dreams
of their clients a reality, while at the same time juggling
married and family life?
"Josh and Jung not only compliment each other but Wedded
to Perfection is a perfect addition to our event and wedding
slate of programming," says TLC SVP Production and Development,
Nancy Daniels. "The series is a great fit for TLC because
it has a balance of high-end eye candy for viewers, but also
relatability, with Josh and Jung balancing work life and personal
life."
"We are thrilled to be working with TLC and we are excited
for people to see what we do, and more importantly, how we
do it," said Lee and Brooks. "We are in the business
of making dreams come true and we are eager to take viewers
not only into our world, but into our lives as well."

edible masterpieces in hopes of winning $10,000 and having their
cakes featured at a marquee event.
Three contestants get a new client each episode and this
sets the stage for the competition. Events range from the
opening of a new shark exhibit at the Long Beach Aquarium
to Legoland's 10th birthday to the July 4th Celebration at
the Reagan Library. The contestants have just nine hours to
make cakes that are at least nine feet tall and creative enough
to win over their client. The winner gets a cash prize. The

high for these families."

LA
Ink
Kat Von D is back on TLC with a new season of the hit
series, LA INK. The new season is blowing up with compelling
stories, new business ventures, and Kat's signature brand
of cool that is sure to leave an indelible impression on
viewers.
Hot off the heels of a whirlwind year, Kat finds herself
in New York, riding a wave of success unlike anything she's
ever dreamed of. This season, life has changed for Kat:
screaming fans, new boyfriend, rock star Nikki Sixx, and
a new makeup line with Sephora. But with her ever-growing
fame and new found success comes a whole new set of stakes
-can she balance these opportunities with her tattoo shop,
which is busier than ever. "This tattoo shop didn't
come with a manual" says Kat as she returns to Los
Angeles to make sure High Voltage keeps running strong.
This season promises some of the shop's most colorful customers
yet. Kat and the team are taking on everyone from a famous
athlete to a daughter getting a tattoo for her family and
sick mother, to an over the top, luchador wrestler. It seems
these days that everyone is looking to immortalize something.
Allison Kugel at PR.com
got the chance to chat with Kat Von D
Here are some of the highlights:
"I think when I started getting tattoos it was really
scary for them, and you know, I had a Mohawk and I was fourteen
when I stopped going to school. My dad's a doctor and they
were missionaries for the church. It was kind of scary for
them, but a decade later, and a TV show later (laughs)...
whatever it takes to make them understand where I'm coming
from." - Kat's parent's reaction to her lifestyle
"I'm a big Beethoven fan and I've been playing the piano
since I was six, and learning about his attitude was totally
crazy. [He was] a hopeless romantic, but socially inept and
just kind of punk rock. He was like the punk rock guy back
in the day, back during those times, and didn't give a fuck.
I guess that's how I've always felt." - comparing
her offbeat attitude to that of Beethoven's
We're totally big nerds (laughs)! Sometimes I lay in bed with
him and we do something totally geeky and I'm like, ''Oh my
God, if people knew." - describing her relationship
with Nikki SIxx from Motely Crue
"Well Nikki and I actually talked about it, and I guess
I'm not hopeless anymore, but I'm in love with being in love.
I love all things romantic and when I love I love. It's all
or nothing. There's a crazy, grand beauty to the struggle
of love. But, now that I've found my other half (referring
to boyfriend Nikki Sixx) I feel we're more hopeful romantics.
We still stay romantic but we're not hopeless." -
on being a hopeless romantic
I just had my one year and one month anniversary. I had totally
forgotten. Somebody reminded me the other day... in the first
season [of LA Ink] I was hammered so many times (laughs).
When you're on TV you have a responsibility. Some people choose
to acknowledge that, and some don't. I actually do care. It's
like with smoking on camera, kid's thought it was cool, and
I don't want to be a part of that. With the drinking thing,
eventually you've got to grow up and get your shit together,
and I'm glad I did." - Kat on quitting drinking to
be a better role model
"Four or five years ago going into a Dior store or, you
know, you felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (laughs).
People would stare, and it wasn't because they were curious.
Going to the mall was pretty hard. I think for a female especially,
because it's so much gnarlier than [on] a guy. On a guy it's
like, "Oh, he's a wild one." If it's a girl it's
all the bad stigmas. You're a hooker, you're a drug addict,
you were in jail (laughs)." - Kat on facing prejudice
for her appearance before she was famous
