Meet the Natives USA

Imagine playing in the snow, seeing the New York skyline, or eating a Thanksgiving turkey, all for the first time. On Meet The Natives USA five tribesmen from the South Pacific island of Tanna will do just that when they embark on a 7,000 mile journey to assimilate to western civilization. Hand-picked by their supreme chief to undertake a special mission to America, the ambassadors from Tanna leave their traditional way of life behind to travel to the U.S. to learn more about American culture.

Eager to fit in and conform to American society, the ambassadors shed their traditional garb for warmer, more suitable fashion, as they adjust to a cooler climate and conservative surroundings. In each episode the tribesmen live with a new host family for one week: including ranchers in Montana, a society belle in New York City; a mid-western family in Peoria, Illinois; a fun-loving family in Orange County, CA; and a military family in Ft. Stewart, GA; adapting to unfamiliar norms, and for the first time experiencing the luxuries that Americans often take for granted.

Dissecting every part of U.S. culture they experience, the tribesmen provide their assessment of western values on each family they stay with, and in turn, the American hosts learn more about themselves than they ever thought possible. Additionally, the ambassadors impart wisdom and knowledge on their hosts by describing their simple life on Tanna, and telling tales of the American soldier who brought peace to their island during World War II. Hoping to reinforce their message of peace to America's leaders, the ambassadors conclude their journey with a trip to Washington, D.C., securing a meeting with a well-known government official and offering their peace tokens from Tanna.

The ambassadors return to Tanna where they find great contrast in the life they left behind. Stepping foot on their home soil, the tribesmen are eager to tell their families about America and proud to have finally met the strange natives that inhabit the United States.

Bizarre World
Andrew Zimmern has been tasting some of the world's most bizarre food for three seasons on the Travel Channel. Now he is expanding his unique traveling tacktics on Bizzare World.Bringing back all the delectable ingredients viewers love from Bizarre Foods, this new series explores the unusual rituals and strange customs in each area, as Andrew steps out of his culinary comfort zone and into a world more bizarre than even he ever thought possible.

The premiere episode of Bizarre World takes a look at Cuba, a country whose mystery is matched by its natural beauty, vibrant culture and succulent cuisine.

Andrew acts as a human guinea pig in the premiere episode as he dives head first into this new evolution of global cultural exploration. Some of his adventures include living among the remote Ju/'hoansi tribe in the Kalahari, using brains and brawn to compete in a German sport that merges chess and boxing, and shaving his entire body in order for his skin to serve as a canvas for pop art at a body painting festival in Austria.

In keeping with Andrew's philosophy that partaking in a destination's traditional foods offers the perfect introduction to an otherwise foreign culture, his travels for Bizarre World include
tasting an outstanding buffet of unique fare at every turn. Whether he is sampling impala, wildebeest and crocodile in South Africa, a tree rat in Cuba, or a plant called "stinking toe" in Belize which smells just the way it sounds, no adventure would be complete without a one-of-akind feast for Andrew's taste buds.

Season one continues with Andrew's adventures in Belize, Germany, the Kalahari, Wisconsin, South Africa, Florida, Sulawesi, and Bali.

Ghost Adventures Live
This Halloween season, on October 30, 2009 from 8PM to 3AM ET the Ghost Adventures crew, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, will voluntarily lock themselves in one of America's most haunted locations, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, for a LIVE seven-hour, paranormal investigation. During Ghost Adventures Live, the crew will examine the reported hauntings and ghostly activity at this paranormal landmark.

Built during the Civil War, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia is the second largest hand cut stone buildings in the world. For decades, its massive walls housed the insane, the neglected, and the unwanted. Violence was a common occurrence and inmates were often subjected to brutal medical procedures. In 1994, the asylum was shut down permanently and the edifice has remained vacant ever since.

The Ghost Adventures crew will have unprecedented access to the entire asylum, from the seclusion cells where the most violent patients were shackled, to the medical center where primitive 'ice-pick' lobotomies were frequently performed. They will interview locals and learn about the history of the surrounding area before being padlocked inside the facility, unable to escape as they record their experiences. To aid in their investigations, they will be calling on help from experts in Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP), and mediums, while using newly invented spirit-detection systems.

This seven-hour live broadcast will be completely interactive. Along with watching the drama unfold live on television, viewers can go online to www.travelchannel.com/ghostadventures to participate in the investigation directly. Viewers at home will have complete access to the investigation as it occurs via fixed webcams throughout the building and online chats with the team during the lockdown.
They will also be able to send e-mails, text messages, IMs and faxes to Zak, Nick, and Aaron, sharing what they see and offering advice on what they should do next.
