Starter Wife Review by Erin

"I was such a huge fan of the mini-series, The Starter Wife, I was thrilled to hear that it would be returning to USA as a new original series. Debra Messing steals the spotlight as Molly Kegan and Danielle Nicoletand Chris Diamantopoulos make up a the cast of solid supporting actors. Debra Messing plays Molly Kegan, the ex wife of a Hollywood Movie producer, who left her high and dry for a teen pop star look a like.

Messing's character is fun and witty and continues to remind me of why I feel in love with Grace on NBC's hit show Will & Grace. The series begins Friday October 10th and is titled "The Forty Year-Old Virgin Queen." This first episode finds Molly swearing off men and figuring out a life for herself, as she slowly watches her ex husbands, latest blockbuster fail. But a simple life will not start off to be so simple, she takes a job as a crossing guard at her daughters elite school, as all the parents prep for a fashion show of dropping there children off. She does however; find sanctuary in pen and paper as she writes about gossip in her journal, only soon to find that her journal entries have been sold to a popular gossip blog for all of LA to read.

I will always be a Debra Messing fan, she is fun, clever, and doesn't mind being goofy to get a laugh out of her audience. She is the perfect actress to portray Molly Kegan, and to lead the cast.. I can't wait to ditch all my Friday night plans and park myself on the couch to catch what will happen to Molly and the gang. The two hour special will air on Friday night starting at 9pm"

Monk - The murder of his wife Trudy, in a crime he has never solved, has intesified Adrian Monk's obsessive- compulsive disorder to a near crippling degree. He is off of the San Francisco police force on an extended psychiatric leave and is now a freelance detective and consultant, with the help of Natalie Teeger, who replaced Sharona Fleming after season three.

USA partnered with Big Spaceship (the creators of “The Ultimate Search for Bourne”) to develop WITSEC Confidential, a multi-media campaign that brings the intriguing world of Witness Protection to life by giving each viewer the opportunity to work alongside the lead characters of the show as the newest U.S. Marshal in the Albuquerque WITSEC office.

Each week users/fans will be able to login to the WITSEC Confidential microsite to participate in a new interactive case. Each of these cases will include original video briefings featuring Marshall Mann, and will require monitoring, protecting and in some cases tracking down federal witnesses. To solve these challenges, players will need to use the tools provided, call witnesses and colleagues, and visit a wide range of locations to search for evidence and conduct interviews.

In Plain Sight Review:

USA Network's new show, In Plain Sight, stars Mary McCormack and Fred Weller as U.S. Marshals with the Federal Witness Protection Program. But viewers expecting a typical law or crime procedural may be surprised, as the show is scripted in a serial manner. Storylines are continuous throughout the season, especially those involving Mary and her on-again off-again boyfriend and her younger sister Brandi. This is fortunate for those who have seen the solid, but perhaps noncomprehensive first episode.

In the pilot, Mary came across as a tough, difficult to please chick who is married to her job and frustrated with her surroundings. Her partner Fred seemed like a dork whose verbal aptitude surpassed his physical capabilities (although his intellectual banter is amusing). And in the end, it was Mary alone who put two and two together. Fortunately, later episodes draw more complete pictures of the characters, and viewers will see a softer side of Mary and a tougher, no-nonsense Fred.

McCormack and Weller are solid actors who believably play their roles, and Nichole Hiltz as troubled younger sis Brandi Shannon is an added twist. Chief inspector Stan McQueen provides some humor as Mary and Fred's bumbling boss. The only weak link in the cast is Lesley Ann Warren's turn as Jinx Shannon, Mary and Brandi's practically intolerably annoying mother.

The pilot episode provided a brief sketch of the characters and their roles on the show, but the later episodes should reveal those pesky questions viewers are asking themselves... What will Brandi do with the suitcase, and will Mary discover it? What will happen with Mary's sometimes boyfriend Raphael, played by Cristián de la Fuente? And why does Bobby D keep poppin
