Celebrity Diet Tricks & Slim Downs

By Alicia Tamayo

It seems like everyday there's a new celebrity in the headlines for a dramatic weightloss or controversial new diet. Some celebs credit their hot bods to weight-loss programs like Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, while others swear by hypnosis or detox plans. And then of course there are those who swear they never workout and eat whatever they want! Whatever it is, Hollywood knows how to keep slim and we've got the star secrets below!

Jessica Biel
Jessica Biel has one of the hottest bodies in Hollywood. How does she do it? She keeps her body in tip top shape by working out regularly and following a very strict diet 6 days of the week, avoiding bread, dairy, sugar, salt or much meat, but allows herself that other day to eat whatever she wants!

Jennifer Garner
To lose weight and focus on eating healthy Jennifer reportedly cleans out her kitchen a few times a year, tossing out cookies, crackers, white bread and other processed foods. The action of getting out the trash bags and reading food labels helps to focus on eating healthy and getting back on track.

Blake Lively
Blake reportedly stays so slim by eating extra fiber, aiming for 35-40 grams per day! The recommended daily intake is 25 grams. Fiber helps fill you up and remove toxins from your body, and is excellent for maintaining a healthy weight. But start slowly - jumping into a high fiber diet will wreak havoc on your stomach!

Cameron Diaz
Cameron has always had an amazingly fit body, but she seems to look better as she ages! The star loves to exercise, and it's obvious! As for her diet, she goes for an "upside-down" plan meaning she eats carbs at the beginning of the day then tapers off, eating just protein and vegetables in the evening. She also grazes throughout the day, keeping her metabolism fired up all day long!

Jennifer Hudson
We hardly recognize the singer/actress anymore! One of the most extreme slim downs of 2010(and still going), Hudson credits her weight loss to Weight Watchers and exercise. Sure, she's a Weight Watchers spokeswoman so the money and publicity are an added motivation, but even Hudson says she didn't expect to go as far as she did. She went from a size 16 to a size 4! She says she now eats her favorite foods in moderation and works out with her trainer. "I've been introduced to a whole new way of living."

Kelly Osbourne
Another amazing transformation, Kelly Osbourne went from chubby to slim and glamorous - not to mention all over our TV screen! This young star slimmed down to a size 2 with strength training and running five days a week. Her diet includes oatmeal for breakfast and lots of fish and vegetables.

Sammi "Sweetheart"
This Jersey Shore reality star has slimmed down and toned up since The Jersey Shore first emerged on MTV. She lost 15 plus pounds by removing pasta and other carbs from her diet. Sammi also exercises regularly with an intensive cardio routine that includes intervals of sprinting followed by rest periods of a light jog.

Lily Allen
This singer slimmed downed from a size 12 to size 8 in a rather unusual way. Lily Allen credits her weight loss to $600 hypnosis sessions with hypnotist, Susan Hepburn.
Lily Allen, 22, isn't the only celebrity who has gone the hypnosis route - Geri Halliwell, Sarah Ferguson and Sophie Dahl have all been treated by hypnotists to lose weight.

Bethenny Frankel
This housewife of NYC received a lot of criticism for her shocking 29-pound weight loss just three weeks after giving birth, suggesting it sent an unrealistic message to new mothers. Frankel argued that it wasn't an unrealistic weight loss because she remained healthy and fit before, during, and after her pregnancy. Bethenny remained active during her pregancy, doing yoga and walking 45 minutes a day. "The truth is, you can't be extreme when it comes to a healthy weight loss program, meaning there's no binging but there's no crash diets either...Truthfully, most people are terrified while they're pregnant that they have to eat for two and then they binge. And then when they're not pregnant they go on crash diets. Extreme weight loss plans don't work."

Raven- Symoné
This former Disney star turned heads at the People's Choice Awards when she revealed an amazingly thin figure. The 25-year-old confessed she was happy with her body when it was fuller and didn't feel insecure in any way. "I thought I looked fabulous before and nobody else did," she said. "So, whatever." She credits her recent weight loss to less stress in her life (since the end of her show "That's So Raven") and finding hobbies that she enjoys. "That's what stress does to you," Symoné says. "I've been not stressing. I've been in my own house, decorating and finding hobbies."

More star favorite diet tricks:

Fergie - drinks 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar every day
Audrina - ginger root
Giuliana Rancic - greek yogurt and Kashi bars
Jessica Alba - avoids diet drinks
Carrie Underwood - writes everything down in a food diary
Reese Witherspoon - baby food diet
Kate Hudson - organic diet
Miranda Lambert - no white foods (mayo, potatoes, bread)
