2001's Most Popular Song Hits

Pop Culture Madness Reviews are Brought To You By You Buying Stuff Through Our Amazon Links! 1. Cha Cha Slide - Mr C The Slide Man - Now have you ever been to a school dance that doesn't play this song? Or even a wedding? Mr. C stands for Chicago's DJ Casper whose intention was just an updated version of the electric slide. The song originally debuted with Bally Total Fitness but popularity quickly grew and became a worldwide phenomenon.

2. I'm A Believer - Smash Mouth - The original song, written by Neil Diamond, was a huge hit in the 1966 version, sang by The Monkees. Smash Mouth recorded I'm A Believer for the movie Shrek, and then put the song on their self-titled album after. It is one of the very remakes in modern pop that may eqaul the original vlassic. The song has been covered as a single by over ten different artists and sold around 10 million copies.

3. Get The Party Started - Pink - This may be P!nk's most popular song (2008's So What gives it run for the money), serving as her first single off her second album. The song was written by Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes fame, while she was learning to program drums. It got ranked number 81 in Rolling Stones top songs of the 2000.

4. Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil Kim, and Mya - This song was on the Moulin Rouge! Soundtrack and a remake of the 1975 disco version performed by Labelle.

5. Pop - *NSync - The ultimate boy band had the intention of sending a message to boy band critics, that their music was more than a fad, but a sound with staying power that infatuates fans, and they were right! Although peaking at number 19 on the Billboard charts in 2001, it blows away bigger hits from that time including Crazytown's Butterfly and Mariah Carey's Loverboy. This song also helped Justin debut his beat-boxing skills on an *NSync track.
