(Dec. 2008 - Jan 2009)
- Hey, Leverage diehards, PCM is hooking you up! Actor Timothy
Hutton, who plays Nate Ford on TNT's Leverage, chatted with
PCM about why he thinks the show has captivated viewers!
Leverage follows a team of thieves, hackers and grifers
who act as modern-day Robin Hoods, taking revenge against
those who use power and weath to victimize others! We're
thinking it will be full of great storylines and action!
PCM also interviewed Aldis
Hodge, who plays Alec Hardison the critically acclaimed
series! Check out our brief audio stream interview with
the actor talking about his show below. Even more interviews
with the cast? Yep! To make things even better, we interviewed
Beth Reisgraf, who plays Parker in the series, see below!
PCM: Our site readers
would like to know, what is it about a show like "Leverage"
that will make it appealing to viewers? What will lead viewers
wanting more?
Timothy Hutton:"I think
the real appeal of the show is getting real satisfaction
in the revenge aspect of the show. Seeing some hideous person
take advantage of someone, either by denying them medical
claim or taking their home away from them by putting a lien
on it or an unfair foreclosure or, you know, there's a lot
of different subjects that we tackle. And I think that the
fun of the show, why people will enjoy seeing it week to
week, is seeing somebody helped out who's been deeply wronged.
They come to our team and we figure out a way to get their
life back together and take out there's a lot of different
subjects that we tackle. And I think that the fun of the
show, why people will enjoy seeing it week to week, is seeing
somebody helped out who's been deeply wronged. They
come to our team and we figure out a way to get their life
back together and take out the person who took advantage
of them in the first place."
Q: We understand that
this is a band of thieves basically and we're starting to
see the consequences of that now with the team kind of falling
apart. What can you do to bring them together in the final
episode, your character?
Timothy Hutton:
Well,
I think the final episode, Nate is not quite sure he wants
to keep the team together. I think that the team also isn't
sure whether they want to continue working with others.
They're all used to working along. And they developed a
kind of wonderful family dynamic working as a team. But
you know over the course of the first season some trust
issues come up certainly in the show that happened last
night with Sophie, the team sees that maybe she's working
towards her own end and not for the team or for others.
So I think the finally is going to show
a real conflict for Nate as to whether or not it's worth
continuing the way it's been going and certain things are
going to have to be expressed. Certain new ways of working
together are going to have to be agreed upon. And the conclusion
is a very complicated and yet you know compelling one that
will bring us nicely into a second season.
Q: What are you watching
when you're not on TV? What are your favorite shows?
Timothy Hutton:
Well, I like - I've enjoyed watching "Lost" over
the different seasons of "Lost." I'm a big fan
of "Mad Men." And I didn't watch "The Wire"
when it was on, but just in this past 6 months I've watched
every season of "The Wire" and I think that is
one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. That show
is just incredible. I like Tim Roth's new show "Lie
to Me."

Beth Riesgraf's television credits include the Showtime
pilot Insatiable and recent guest-starring roles on Without
a Trace, Big Shots, and My Name is Earl. On Leverage, she
plays Parker, a pretty bad-ass chick that is a total dare-devil!
