Interview with Sarah Karges

PCM's Rebekah Miller recently talked with entertainment host Sarah Karges. She grew up on a farm in Nebraska, but made her way to Los Angeles and became a cover girl for Body Glove, Bolle, Trans World Surf swimsuit issue and a few others. Sarah Karges is now invloved in both acting and hosting. She is the host of Fox Sport's Tailgate Tour where she gets to go around the country hosting at the hottest tailgating locations. Sarah will also be co-hosting the upcoming cartoon network show Brain Rush.

Q: You have hosted a lot of shows such as Fox Sport's Tailgate Tour and Cartoon Network's Brain Rush, what has been one of your favorite hosting experiences?

Sarah Karges: One of the coolest experiences was recently I did a red carpet for Fast Furious and I got to meet my crush Paul Walker who was really fun to interview and really laid back. It was really cool.

Q: Your from a small town, what made you decide to go to LA and get into acting and hosting?

SK: I always wanted to do it since I was younger and me and my friends used to make silly videos. I just did it like a month after I graduated high school. I just flew to LA and did it.

Q: Tell me about the new Cartoon Network show Brain Rush, what is that all about?

SK: Brain Rush is kind of like a kid's cash cab on a roller coaster. What happens is kids go to the park and they have no idea that they are going to be on a game show. We go and find the kids who are really scared of rides or are die hard fans of them. I find them and they get on the ride and then it is like 'surprise your on Brain Rush.' Then I ask them a series of questions while they are on the ride and while they are going upside down, high, low and all of that stuff.

Q: Do you go to different parks each time or is it at the same amusement park?

SK: We shot the first six episodes at Knott's Berry Farms and we shot it at three different rides. The first round is one ride -- there are three contestants -- and then if they make it past the first ride they go to the second ride and then whoever gets the most right on the second ride goes to the next ride. The next ride is like the craziest ride ever, you go from zero to 80 in two minutes.

Q: How did you get the job to co-host the show?

SK: I auditioned for it last October and then shot the pilot in November and it got picked up in March.

Q: You are also going to be returned as co-host for the Fox Sport's show Tailgate Tour, what are you most excited about for the second season?

SK: I'm just excited about going to new campuses and seeing the different fans. We only got to go to six last year and now we are going to 12. We get to go to USC Notre Dame which is this huge rivalry game. Just seeing the different traditions of different fans and how they tailgate is the best part.

Q: Last year you got the chance to do some acting, do you want to do more of that or just stick with hosting?

SK: You know, I'm up for anything. I love doing both of them. If something came up that was a great role I would definitely do it.

Q: Who are some TV show hosts or actors that you really admire?

SK: Right now I really like the host Cat Deeley from So You Think You Can Dance because I love to dance and that is one of my favorite shows. If I could get a show like her's I think that would be awesome.

Q: Thats all for today. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me.

SK: You welcome, thank you.
