(April 2009) - Her name is beginning to float around gossip sites and music blogs. PCM's writer Julie Kissane recently spoke with newcomer Tina Parol about her love for music and fashion. Her single, "Who's Got Your Money," could easily become this summer's next hit or a catchy anthem on TV's latest reality show about the young and beautiful.

Tina may look delicate but from our conversation with her, she's sweet and polite without being fake and bubblegum. She gave us a fresh take on the music scene today and where she sees the future of music heading. She's a singer, songwriter and fashionista!

Our writer asked her about the latest in pop culture and what's hot for the spring and summer season. She's currently performing with bands like The White Tie Affair and Forever The Sickest Kids. Check out our whirlwind Q&A with artist Tina Parol below:

Q: What is this summer's hottest fashion item? What's going to be a must have item this season?

Tina: I'm not feeling gladiator sandals anymore. I am definitely feeling the pops of neon colors that we're seeing now. I think we'll be seeing a lot of color, maybe getting a hot neon bathing suit or something would be a definite must have. I think the neon colors will still definitely be in as opposed to the folky look.

Q: What's your take on hair accessories? How important is a hair do for a successful outfit?

Tina: Hair can make or break an outfit, just like shoes. If you walk out with a great outfit and your hair is a mess, you won't feel confident. I love wearing hats and clips, hair is all about making a girl feel confident.

Q: What's something that you want people to know about you? What is your message to the world?

Tina: My message would be that I love what I do. I write songs for a lot of artists, I have written a song for Britney Spears' new album or whether it's writing for my own album when it comes out, it all comes from a very genuine place. I love what I do. I'm in this for the right reasons. I'm here to stay.

Q: Who is on your radar as a hot artist that is out today?

Tina: I'm loving The Kings of Leon, I think they're amazing and so talented. I think they have such an old school rock sensibility about them. I'm really digging Lady GaGa, too. I listen to her stuff at the gym, she's great.

Q: If you have any spare time, do you watch any TV? What's a hot show that's out right now?

Tina: I'm more of a "go to the movies" kind of girl. But I've been known to watch Gossip Girl here and there!

Q: Any celeb crushes?

Tina: I love the lead singer of Incubus, he's super hot and delicious. (laughs)

Q: Where do you see the future of music heading and where do you see yourself in that picture?

Tina: I think music and fashion are becoming very closely tied. Artists are doing performances at fashion events and they are really fusing. In terms of all the illegal downloading and CD sales being down, I think that just means that people have to make better records. I think there's a lot of crap out there and music is finally getting better again.
