Drama on Idol
March 25th: "J",
the loyal "American Idol" fan who has been on
a hunger strike until Sanjaya is voted off of "Idol,"
didn't update her daily blog last night after Sanjaya
survived another round of cuts, prompting us to wonder:
Has Sanjaya's "singing" claimed its first victim?
The MySpacer has been at this for nearly two weeks.
After Tuesday night's episode, she wrote, "Tomorrow
is Wednesday, hopefully the day that will save my life."
Pretty ominous.
Here's an idea, just eat something! You're not really proving
anything with this hunger strike, except that you have too
much time on your hands spent worrying about "American
Idol".
March 23rd: Well it looks
like the hunger strike continues for disgruntled
Idol fan who identifies herself only as "J". The
MySpacer who wants Sanjaya Malakar off "American Idol,"
is nine days into her hunger strike and feeling the
effects. She had planned to post a video entry to update
fans on her condition, but instead wrote a blog Sunday night
that read, "I know I promised you guys a YouTube video,
but I am just feeling too tired and weak to do it
tonight. I don't even know how I'm typing this right now."
The night before, she cautioned readers not to attempt a
hunger strike of their own: "I got a few messages from
people that say that [sic] want to join in the strike,
I must reiterate over again that I do not recommend this.
It's really not fun."
The only thing crazier than Sanjaya still being around on
Idol is the fact that someone actually cares enought to
starve themselves over it.
Is Simon Cowell quitting American Idol?!?! Well
that's what reports are claiming will happen if contestant
Sanjaya Malakar wins this season. Simon has made no
attempt to hide his dislike of the young man, who screeched
through Tuesday's performance while jumping around like
a madman. And it looks like Simon isn't the only anti-Sanjaya.
One fan of the show has taken it to extremes. She has gone
on a hunger strike in the hopes that Sanjaya will be
voted off.
Now into her fourth day of hunger strike, the fan, who has
not been identified, said: "I have no problems with
Sanjaya personally, he seems like a very charming young
man. However, he does not belong on 'American Idol."
"Sanjaya did come out of his shell a bit tonight like
the judges said. However, his voice was horrific. He screamed
through the entire song and jumped around like a manic.
Nice kid, nice kid, but not for 'American Idol," she
added.
Poor kid, and here I thought Antonella Barba would
be this season's most hated contestant.
