January 21, 2008 Update: Britney
Spears has broken up wither her thirty-five-year-old married
paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib after finding out that
he was planning to sell intimate pictures of her.
On Saturday, she invited two paparazzi into her home and
reveled that she has filed a restraining order against the
photog. One of the X17 photographers said "Britney
asked us to leave the cameras in the car, and she poured
some champagne for us," and that "Britney was
funny, very relaxed, dancing a little bit, and she carried
her little dog all the time."
Adnan, who has been in Santa Barbara for the past two days,
claims that he did not know about Britney's current feelings
of animosity or the restraining order. According to People,
Adnan has stated that "I am only now becoming aware
of what is being said. I hope to be back home in Los Angeles
soon and to be in contact with Miss Spears."
Additionally pictures have been leaked of Britney during
her 'time of the month," and while they are admittedly
disgusting, they have once and for all displaced any rumors
of her pregnancy.
Britney appears to be getting her life a little bit more
together, and on Sunday night, she worked on her choreography
for "Hot as Ice" at the Millennium Dance Complex.
She practiced for several hours and was said to be in an
"upbeat mood."
She also actually showed up for her deposition today and
was questioned for over two hours. Spears was expected to
be asked about her failure to show up during court hearings,
as well has her drug and alcohol use and parenting skills.
The pressure of her previous 14 minute deposition led to
the police showdown at her Studio City home, but perhaps
this time her reaction will be less erratic.
January 18, 2008 Update: Britney
showed up for the January 14th child-custody deposition,
and got out of her car only to immediately get back inside
and drive off. While waiting outside of the courthouse,
she met with her two lawyers and told them that she didn't
want to testify. When she stepped out of the Escalade, she
screamed to the paparazzi, "Move back, I'm scared.
Stop it, stop it. I want to get back in the car. Just stop
it. Let me get in the car, please," and then returned
home without ever entering the courthouse.
Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Britney will not have
visitation restored until that next hearing on February
19th. The LAPD claims that on the night of Spear's breakdown,
she was reported as having popped pills all day. She kept
calling for her "vitamins," and went out to speak
to the police officers wearing only her panties. However,
the Commissioner believes that her problems stem from mental
health problems and not drug abuse, and his decision to
continue the revoked custody was strongly influenced by
her lack of appearance in court.
Following the deposition, Britney Spears was involved in
a high speed paparazzi car chase where four of the drivers
were arrested. Britney told the cops that one of them was
trying to "Drive her off the road," but she couldn't
identify which car it was. In another instance, Spears was
reported as having yelled at the paparazzi, repeatedly screaming
"I'm fucking over it!" Britney also fired her
most recent assistant Carla and abandoned her at a gas station
because she thought she was talking to the media.
Britney Spears & Adnan Ghalib SCREAMING
MAD At Paparazzi
Although Britney no longer has amorous feelings for the press
in general, Britney and her married paparazzi boyfriend appear
to be going strong, and he has been involved in several of
her recent shopping escapades. Life & Style Magazine has
reported that Spears came out of the dressing room at Betsey
Johnson completely naked and flipped out at the sales clerk
when she tried to cover her up. She then disappeared into
the dressing room with Adnad where it was reported that they
made "disgusting noises" for forty-five minutes.
Additionally, Britney was seen buying pregnancy tests this
week and rumors were spread that she had another bun in
the over. She later made a statement that she was "buying
them for a friend," much to the relief of everyone
who believed that she was trying to fix her mistakes by
replacing her children. Also on January 17th, Spears had
the owner of Kitson open up their store at 1:30 am, where
she blew over $10,000 on clothing only for herself.
In the past week, Britney has acquired a fake British accent
and sources have declared that this is a sign of multiple
personality disorder. When Britney loses her "British
girl" personality, apparently she has no idea what
occurred. They maintain that the day Britney didn't show
up for her deposition, she was assuming the British girl
persona and has no recollection of it. Family members and
professionals are working to help her seek treatment for
her bipolar/multiple personality disorder, and there is
a chance that Brit will be involuntarily committed.
January 14, 2008 Update: Britney
Spears arrived at a Los Angeles courthouse for a crucial
custody hearing, then apparently changed her mind and left.
Kevin Federline and his lawyer were on hand as Superior
Court Commissioner Scott Gordon began the hearing, which
was scheduled after Spears' right to visit her two sons
was suspended earlier this month.
Spears hasn't had a good history of showing up to hearings
in recent weeks. Dec. 12, she called in sick for a court-ordered
deposition, then arrived nearly two hours late on its rescheduled
date, Jan. 3.
Since checking out of the hospital, Spears has been seen
around Los Angeles with photographer and potential new boyfriend
Adnan Ghalib. The two reportedly hit up West Hollywood's
Westfield Mall for a shopping spree the day before her scheduled
court hearing.
January 11th, 2008 Update:
Britney Spears was released on January
5th from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, two days earlier then
her suggested stay. At the hospital, she was reported as
being heavily sedated and uncooperative. According to PageSix,
she refused any visitors and freaked out at ex-husband Kevin
Federline when he came to her room and tried to get answers
concerning her recent meltdown.
Dr. Phil also paid Britney a visit right before she left
the hospital and states that Spears's mother Lynne was the
one to request that he speak with Britney. He told programmers,
"My meeting with Britney and some family members this
morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than
ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological
intervention."
Dr Phil planned to tape a show about the troubled singer
that was scheduled to air January 9th. He intended to discuss
the serious issues surrounding her case and to have Jamie
and Lynne Spears appear as special guest stars. However,
Britney's parents claimed that the television personality
violated their trust by making statements about their daughter
to the press, and the show was subsequently cancelled.
The tabloids have criticized Dr. Phil's motives and have
maintained that he is trying to profit from her tragedy.
In response, he has claimed that "Somebody needs to
step up and get this young woman in to some quality care
-- and I do not apologize one whit, not one second, for
trying to make that happen."
The LAPD confirms that Britney will not be receiving any formal
charges from the incident that occurred at her home on Thursday
night, and it was re-confirmed that Spears tested negative
for illegal drugs and alcohol during her hospital stay. A
source told People, that she tested clean and that "This
lady is as clean as clean can be, and has been for some time."
Contradictory reports state that Spears ingested over a
hundred pills the night of her breakdown including: two
bottles of Nyquil, two full bottles of Oxycontin, one bottle
of Pepto Bismol, twenty Clenbuterols, eighteen Piriton antihistamines,
eighteen herbal uppers, twelve Vicodins, ten Zantacs, ten
sleeping pills, eight antacid pills, and six Ritalins. However,
this amount of medication would surely kill a 120 pound
female, and so these claims seem far too exaggerated to
hold any merit.
Since leaving the hospital, Spears has spent her time going
on various trips with her married paparazzi boyfriend thirty-five-year-old
Adnan Ghalib. In the past week, photographs have been taken
of the couple in Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, and Mexico,
and it appears that her ex-husband is preparing to get into
a legal battle with Adnan. A source states that said: "Kevin
and his legal team want to get Britney away from him. They
are concerned she has completely lost all sense of reality."
Upon her return to LA, Britney was forced to pay $136 dollars
in towing fees when her car was impounded, after she left
it abandoned on the side of the road when she received a flat
tire. A nearby paparazzi gave her a ride home, and shortly
after she tried to check into the Four Seasons hotel where
she was denied a room and told that she was no longer welcome
there. After ten minutes of crying, she decided to check into
the Peninsula Hotel where she was finally able to find somewhere
to stay.
At the emergency hearing issued by Kevin Federline's attorneys
on January 4th, a court commissioner suspended Spears's rights
to visit two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James. The issue
will be reevaluated in another hearing scheduled for January
14th. LAPD, firefighters, and witnesses that were on scene
during her breakdown will appear in court, and there testimonies
are sure to reflect poorly on Britney's ability to care for
her children.
After the hearing on Friday, Federline attorney Mark Vincent
Kaplan said "I'm not happy about any of these events.
There's no winners here." However, sources maintain
that Kevin's lawyers want Britney's visitation to be completely
cut off until the trial is over in April.
Although Spears is not legally required to make an appearance
in court on Monday, this is her last opportunity to defend
herself to a judge if she has any hope of seeing her children
again. According to news reports, Britney knows she needs
psychological help, but is too afraid to seek treatment
because she believes that if she admits to a problem she
will lose her kids forever.
The media world has been surprisingly sympathetic to Spears's
current condition. Both PETA and Mr. Blackwell decided to
give Britney a break and leave her off their worst dressed
list not wanting to contribute further to her current emotional
crisis, and many stars such as Simon Cowell and Donald Trump
have also spoken out in concern for Spears and her crumbling
private life.
January 9th, 2008 Update:
As if things can't get worse for Britney,
rumors of alleged semi-naked pictures of Britney taken with
photographer Adnan Ghalib are expected to surface within
the next few days. The photog that Britney was canoodling
with last week is in talks with news outlets to leak the
photos for up to a six figure sum. That's a lot of cash!
TMZ has confirmed that the semi-nude pics of Brit Brit
have been shopped around to various weeklies. But X17 reports
the only takers are an Aussie magazine -- and they paid
a paltry $57 grand because the photos, "aren't really
that good."

After a situation involving her custody dispute spiraled
dangerously out of control, the 26 year old pop star was
removed by ambulance from her Studio City home yesterday
night and admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical center for drug
testing and a psychological evaluation.
Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federaline have had an ongoing
battle for custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston
and 1-year-old Jayden James. Having missed five court-ordered
depositions with Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan,
she finally appeared on Thursday and was deposed for only
fourteen minutes.
Britney, who temporarily lost primary custody of the boys
in October, refused to turn them over to Federline's bodyguard
as scheduled, at 7PM (PST) on Thursday. At around 8:30,
the bodyguard called in the LAPD to try to settle the dispute
with the reportedly "intoxicated" Spears.
Outside of the security gate to the Summit gated community,
a cluster of onlookers quickly formed comprised of four
helicopters and papparrazzi who waited in the rain for new
developments.
By 10:30 PM, six police cars, two ambulances, and a fire
truck came to her home. At around 10:50 PM Spears, who was
believed to be under the influence of an "unknown substance,"
finally relinquished her children.
An inside source claims that after handing over Preston
to the court appointed-child monitor, the pop star locked
herself in a room with her younger son Jayden and was carried
out of her home strapped to a gurney. On her way to the
ambulance, Britney was seen alternating between maniacal
smiling and hysterically crying and made a rude hand gesture
to the papparrazzi.
At the hospital, Spears was put on a "5150 hold"
which is a seventy-two hour lock down. Britney was deemed
a "special needs patient" meaning that she requires
twenty-four hour supervision because she is considered a
danger to herself and others. Her father, Jamie Spears,
has been by the singer's side since her admittance to the
hospital.
It is clear the Spears suffered a severe mental breakdown.
Britney's friend has said that "she has good days and
bad days" and that "all she has is to do is think
of something sad and she goes crazy." One report claims
that at the hospital Spears screamed something similar to
"I'd rather die than let him have my babies."
Life & Style Magazine has reported that the blood test
taken upon her hospital arrival came back negative, despite
claims from the police that she appeared under the influence.
A source close to the Spears Family told the magazine that
"Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it
was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any
kind." However, drug tests results do not usually get
processed by the lab quickly when administered in the middle
of the night, and so the validity of this statement is in
question.
Another theory is that Spear's hysterical behavior was
caused by her missing her hourly dosage of bipolar medication.
Again this claim can not be entirely trusted, since bipolar
medication is typically administered on a daily not hourly
basis, and one missed dose does usually not have severe
affects.
Following the police stand off, Jayden James was also transported
by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment
and was found uninjured. The two boys were taken to Federline's
home by his bodyguard, and Federaline followed closely behind
to prevent the paparazzi from getting pictures of his children.
Meanwhile, Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, arrived
at court 8:30AM (PST) to ask the judge to completely disallow
Spears all visitation rights. Kaplan and Spears's attorney
Tara Scott met with the judge for about a half hour in his
chambers.
Trope and Trope filed a motion Wednesday asking to be relieved
as her counsel due to a "breakdown" in communication
with Spears, and sadly their relationship is not the only
breakdown that has occurred this week.
