Ellen pleas to dog
adoption agency to return the pup to a safe home where it
belongs!
October 2007: The 49-year-old comedian turned daytime
talk show host explained she had adopted a puppy named Iggy
from an animal rescue centre on September 20, but, despite
training and neutering, Iggy failed to impress the comedian’s
cats. On hearing her hairdresser was looking for a family
pet, and to prevent her feline friends suffering further
distress, DeGeneres gave the dog away.
The adoption agency wasn't too happy about this and took
the dog from the family and refuse to give the puppy back
to Ellen's hairdresser's family. Her haridresser has two
daughters that had apparently become very attached to the
dog. Small dogs are not allowed to stay at homes with young
children according to their company policy.
“Well, I guess I signed a piece of paper that says if I
can’t keep Iggy, it goes back to the rescue organisation,
which is not someone’s home, which is not a family. These
two little girls had bonded to the dog. I thought I did
a good thing. I tried to find a loving home for the dog
because I couldn’t keep it. I was trying to do a good thing,"
sobbed Ellen on her show recently.
America has gone into a tizzy about this situation and
so many can't understand how the adoption agency, Muts and
Moms, won't returned the dog. Mutts and Moms owners Marina
Batkis and Vanessa Chekroun have no sympathy for Ellen.
The pair have reportedly received death threats since the
show screened and are now taking a stand, insisting through
their lawyer, that will not be bullied and Iggy will not
be returned.
