Mini Review:
If you can't decide wether you are up for a mildly raunchy "adult"
comedy or a Hallmark Channel feel-good movie about older folks,
this could be the film for you. There will probably be plenty of
room in the theater, because this film has enough to turn off either
potential audience. It's preachy enough to turn off the younger
set and a little too vulger for me to recommend to my mom. Performaces,
all round , were fine. The concept was cute, a young, selfish doctor
has to pay penance for his earlier misdeeds in a corrupt old folk's
home. He sees the light, the bad guys get caught and he gets the
girl. I don't think I gave too much away from the cliched plot.
After they cut out a few minutesand edit some dialogue, and will
be perfect early evening fare for those who retire to bed hours
before David or Jay come on.

Patients Aren't Just Patients… They're Family
New York, NY- May 22, 2006- Waltzing Anna, the story of an unscrupulous
doctor's change of heart, is set to be released in select cities
nationwide on August 11th, 2006. The film stars Robert Capelli Jr.
(Mail Order Bride) as Dr. Charlie Keegan, a partner in a New York
City medical practice that thrives on the bureaucracy of the insurance
system and naiveté of its elderly patients.
"After watching my grandfather get older and deal with the
red tape of the medical system, whether it be patient care or insurance
issues, I knew I wanted to tackle the subject in a lighthearted
manner and still remain true to the very important topics that concern
everyone today," says Capelli who also wrote and produced the
film.
Charlie's lawyer, played by Artie Lange (Howard Stern, Mad TV),
is unable to prevent the medical board from reprimanding him. For
six months, he is forced to work in an upstate nursing home- Shady
Pines. Charlie wanted to do his time and get out. Instead, his new
patients and an unexpected romance with the compassionate nurse
Jill, played by Emmanuelle Chriqui (In the Mix), transform him into
a sympathetic man who fights for the care and protection of the
people he once neglected.
With memorable performances by Pat Hingle (Batman, Splendor in
the Grass, Norma Rae) and Betsy Palmer (Friday the 13th) as the
lovable Mo and Anna, Waltzing Anna is sure to capture the hearts
of moviegoers across the country. Rounding out the casts are Grant
Shaud (Murphy Brown), Paige Turco, Casey Siemaszko and several more
familiar faces.
The film is produced by Baxter Films in association with Evolving
Productions, Ursa FilmWorks and K Sera Sera. Exact cities and theaters
to be announced.
