The
Return of Lilith Fair
|
| Nettwerk
CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry McBride announced via Twitter
that the all-female festival would make its return in 2010.
The official Lilith 2010 website has officially launched, not
only revealing the new look and feel of Lilith a decade later,
but also the first set of cities that the traveling festival
will be hitting - New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto,
London and more. Check out www.lilithfair.com for the complete
list!
"I can't reveal anything further now," says McBride,
"but I can assure fans that we have some exciting announcements
over the course of the following weeks, from confirmed artists
to additional cities to innovative social initiatives. Lilith
2010 is very much upon us."
Lilith 2010 promises to be a much bigger summer festival
than it was in the past, traveling for the first time overseas
and celebrating a mix of international artists and local up-and-comers.
To capture the new energy of Lilith, Vancouver's Traction
Creative was brought on board to reinvigorate the Lilith brand
- the new look is revealed today for the first time with the
launch of the website.
From 1997 through 1999, Lilith Fair was one of the highest
grossing touring festivals in the world, with over 1.5 million
fans in attendance and raising over $10 million dollars for
national and local charities. Founded by Grammy-award winning
artist Sarah McLachlan along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond
and Terry McBride, Lilith Fair was the only tour of its kind
- a celebration of women in music featuring artists like Sheryl
Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, The Dixie Chicks, Missy
Elliot, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah,
Indigo Girls, Tegan and Sara and of course, Sarah McLachlan.

i4c
Campaign and Reverb
|
| The
Lilith Fair of the late 90s is not only remembered for its diverse
line up of female all-stars and up-and-comers, but also for
its philanthropic commitments. The 2010 Lilith Tour steps it
up a notch by announcing two key partners in its mission-related
sector: the i4c Campaign to drive social awareness and non-profit
Greening partner Reverb.
Lilith becomes the first partner of the innovative i4c Campaign
- an initiative of the holding company TouchPoint Trust Group.
Lilith Fair founders Sarah McLachlan, Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond
and Terry McBride have targeted a $3 million investment partnership
for the Lilith i4c Campaign. i4c (denoting "i4c a better
tomorrow") is an investment model that aims to drive
awareness to the importance of supporting the triple bottom
line business sector companies that focus on people, planet
and profit.
TouchPoint founder Casey Verbeck says of the initiative,
"We live in a time where we all have to ask ourselves
how can we contribute to a better tomorrow. The time is now
for us to come together and support leaders who have the passion,
products and services to truly reshape tomorrow. These are
the individuals who deserve our undivided attention and support."
The 2010 Lilith Tour will contribute $1 from every ticket
sold as well as a portion of their marquee sponsorship revenue.
McBride explains, "By contributing a portion of Lilith's
profits to a for-profit campaign now, we are creating a sustainable
way to fund Lilith's non-profits in the future." In addition,
Lilith will encourage fan donations to the i4c Foundation
and provide an i4c Village, which will travel to each city
of the tour. By featuring guest entrepreneurs on tour, the
Lilith i4c Campaign will educate the public on cutting edge
innovations and encourage community participation. (Find out

Reverb co-founder Lauren Sullivan comments, "Reverb
is psyched to be a part of Lilith Fair 2010. Lilith is a truly
ground-breaking festival, and it's an honor to work on behalf
of so many talented women. We're excited to have the opportunity
to make the tour one of the greenest on the road next summer,
and to inspire Lilith fans across the country to become environmentally
aware and active."

OurStage
and the "Lilith Local Talent Search"
|
| Since
the news of Lilith's return has spread, the interest from emerging
musicians to be a part of the tour has been astounding. The
Lilith 2010 tour is pleased to announce a new partnership with
OurStage.com, the music discovery destination dedicated to new
artist and new music discovery. Lilith and OurStage will run
the "Lilith Local Talent Search," an exciting contest
to find the next best emerging female musicians across North
America.
A winner will be chosen for each N. American city the tour
visits, and that winner will have the opportunity to perform
a set in their city on the Village Stage with other emerging
artists. Ten years ago, that same stage featured artists like
Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado and Tegan and Sara. Furthermore,
the OurStage platform involves members of the local communities
by allowing them to be a part of the selection process in
their cities.
"We are thrilled to partner with the such an important
and prestigious tour as Lilith Fair and to help deserving
female artists earn regional and national exposure,"
shares Ben Campbell, CEO of OurStage. "OurStage is in
the business of delivering life-altering opportunities for
worthy artists -so this is really exciting for OurStage and
our whole community."
Adds Lilith Fair co-founder Terry McBride, "We are really
excited to be partnering with OurStage.com. It was extremely
important to us to choose a partner that was artist friendly,
had a strong platform for discovering regional talent, and
had the ability to enable the fans to sort through the best
music in a scalable and fair manner. Together, we provide
an exceptional platform for discovering and promoting the
best emerging female artists."
At this time, 17 North American cities have been revealed
for the 2010 Lilith tour, with more cities being announced
soon. Artists should only enter if they live in or near one
of the Lilith tour stops. Further details, rules and regulations
will be announced at a later date. Interested female musicians
should visit http://www.ourstage.com/go/lilith to enter the
contest and create a profile.
