Alterbridge - Blackbird

Review By discconnected
Determined to create their own legacy rather than live
in the shadow of Creed, Alter Bridge return with their
sophomore CD, "Blackbird," showing a suprising
evolution that pushes the band into more aggressive
territory.
Themes of introspection, optomism and healing run
throughout this album's thirteen songs (or buy the
Best Buy edition for two bonus tracks), The first
track "Ties That Bind" kicks things into
gear with a fast and heavy verse and an epic chorus.
This is definitely a darker, heavier band than we
saw on the debut album, and although it does feature
a few radio-friendly tunes (like the first single
"Rise Today"), overall this is harder than
a mainstream rock album. Whether or not this album
is the final nail in the Creed coffin, Alter Bridge
have certainly arrived in their own right.
