The paws have been raised and the votes tallied: six very talented dog and cat finalists from across the country have been handpicked to go nose-to-snout in the first annual pet talent search, StarPet 2008, organized by Bide-a-Wee, one of the nation's oldest humane organizations. Together with Bash Dibra, a leading celebrity dog trainer and best-selling author, and NY S.A.V.E., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the aid and assistance of low-income pet owners, this exciting and fun event was hosted at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan on November 10. The grand prize was talent representation by Bash Dibra.

Hosted by Emmy Award winning talk show host Montel Williams, StarPet 2008 included a celebrity judge panel headlined by supermodel (and Mrs. Ric Ocasik) Paulina Porizkova, Michael Musto from The Village Voice, Grammy Award winner Roberta Flack, Jill Rappaport from The Today Show, Amanda Setton and Michelle Hurd from Gossip Girl, Jenna Morasca from Survivor, Mike Jerrick from The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, and celebrity pet trainer Bash Dibra.

Special celebrity guests included Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Ivana Trump, Constantine Maroulis from American Idol, and Dr. David Best. Actress Eileen Fulton from As The World Turns was Honorary Chair.
