Synopsis:

From Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Kirby Dick (Twist of Faith) comes the critically-hailed documentary This Film Is Not Yet Rated from Genius Products and IFC Television. Shedding light on the irregularities of the rating system regulated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)®, this thought-provoking film features insightful interviews with writers, directors, producers, actors, journalists and many more that are affected by the mysterious system.

Kirby Dick's provocative film investigates the secretive and inconsistent process by which the Motion Picture Association of America® rates films. Dick questions whether certain studios get preferential treatment, exposes the discrepancies in how the MPAA® views sex and violence, and reveals the association's efforts to control culture.

Sharing first-hand experiences and viewpoints on the American movies rating board, which affects all filmmaker and moviegoers alike, This Film Is Not Yet Rated features interviews with John Waters (A Dirty Shame), Matt Stone ("South Park"), Kevin Smith (Clerks 2), Wayne Kramer (Running Scared), Maria Bello (The Cooler), Mary Harron (American Psycho) and Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry), among many others.
