Meet James (Macaulay Culkin) and Heather (Alexis Dziena). James is a responsible twenty-something who is a sensitive, funny, patient man who quickly realizes that he is easily influenced. James is hopelessly in love with his beautiful girlfriend Heather, a curious, uninhibited experimenter who, despite concerted search efforts, cannot quite find fulfillment. When Heather's ex-lover comes to town for a visit, James becomes bent on growing a spine.
Meet Ellis (Kuno Becker) and Renee (Eliza Dushku). Ellis is a sensitive, yet macho egotist who strongly believes in himself and his own prowess. His girlfriend, Renee is thoughtful, honest, and more than a little curious about her own sexual proclivities. Take, for example, her attraction to Betty (Jaime Ray Newman), a sexy blonde waitress, who works at the local diner who has more to offer Renee than just what is on the menu.
This erotically-charged yarn begins as both couples face the reality that their sex lives have hit rock bottom. Seeking professional intervention, the couples embark on a partner swap that leaves some thrilled and others thwarted. After a series of mishaps fueled by jealousy, confusion, and insecurities, they soon find that true love and lasting relationships, at their core, are ultimately about more than sex and breakfast.
