January 2008 DVD News:

Get Smart: The Complete Collection, the EMMY winning comedy series is available now on a 25 DVD megaset . The seven-time EMMY® Award-winning comedy series, starring Don Adams as title character Maxwell Smart, originally aired on NBC from 1965 to 1970, and before its release in November of last year, had never been available on home video. All five seasons are included in the set featuring nearly 10 hours of stunning bonus material such as a new, in-depth interview with co-star Barbara Feldon (Agent 99), original featurettes, new episode introductions, audio commentaries with cast and series co-creators Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, never-before-seen bloopers, and much, much more.
Time Life, working in conjunction with HBO Video, spent nearly a year restoring and digitally re-mastering each individual full-length episode of the celebrated series. Commenting on the new look of the show, Get Smart executive producer Leonard Stern remarked, "This incredible restoration means that finally Get Smart can be seen the way it was meant to be seen."

January DVD Reviews:

REVIEW: Ten vignettes about the ten commandmadments? That is exactly what the film The Ten is attempting. I think I can definitely give this film some major points for originality, and I feel the director took a lot of chances with the subject material. It seemed that throughout the film each vignette got a little more bizarre as the narrator played by Paul Rudd guided us through the big ten.

Rudd's performance was hilarious and his commentary between vignettes was spot-on. There are few vignettes that stand out more than others such as Prison, Puppet, and Naked Sunday. Watching Winona Ryder make-out with a ventriloquist dummy was a laugh riot. I also need to include an honorable mention about the animated sequence Lying Rhino, which was also riotously funny. Bonus features on the disc could have been a bit more organized especially the additional scenes and outtakes. I was itching to see the gag reel from this film, but it was all mixed together with the deleted and additional scenes. I give this film a B+ for tackling this subject matter and succeeding, however the bonus features get a C- for lack of organization! - Kristyn

REVIEW: I'm sure that fans of any action-packed martial arts movie will be satisfied with Dennis Law Sau-Yiu's, Fatal Contact. Audiences who have enjoyed movies with Jackie Chan and Jet Li will find this thriller entertaining and full of amazing stunts. I wouldn't categorize myself as a movie-goer that enjoys these types of kung-fu films what-so-ever, but I could sit through Fatal Contact and remain engaged. Fans of violence and a bit of blood will be pleased with the punching, flipping, kicking and flinging of bodies right and left! It's a guy's movie that may cause adrenaline to rise and the urge to beat someone up a little more likely! - Julie
REVIEW: Another Anna Faris movie? Her new movie "Smiley Face" brings anything but smiles. Attempting to become another hippy-trip pot smoking cult classic, it instead is a total and utter comedic failing. Unlike her previous roles in the "Scary Movie", her character lacks personality and comedic timing is drastically off kilter with the rest of the movie. The other minor characters Danny Masterson and John Krasinski do provide some laughs. All in all, this movies potential is left to wither and it provides almost no entertainment value. - Tyler Scott
