Tesh: Alive Music & Dance
As much as I wanted to not like this I couldn't help getting
swept away into the depth of its heavenly music and well-trained
spectacular dancers. The music created by John Tesh was definitely
not award winning, but was definitely suited to the type of
spectacle he was presenting.

The indie rom-com
Dedication marks the debut for actor-turned-director
Justin Theroux (The Baxter, Muholland Drive). The movie starts
off strong with witty dialogue complete with dark humor and
even curses at innocent five-year-olds, but rapidly slows down
in pace once the story turns into what seems like a forced romantic
relationship. Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), Mandy Moore (A Walk
to Remember), and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton) star in this
R-Rated love story set outside of Queens, New York.

American Gangster
is an intense mob epic based on a true story, loaded with
A-list actors on one side of the camera and a trio of brilliant
minds on the other. Three-time Oscar nominated director Ridley
Scott (Gladiator), Oscar winning producer Brian Grazer (A
Beautiful Mind) and Oscar winning writer Steven Zaillian (Schindler's
List) are at the helm of this powerful film led by two of
the most recognizable names in the business...

Summer
Palace
This film is a journey of epic romance and personal discovery
throughout a revolution. The film is being hailed as "being
banned by the Chinese government" and we can certainly
see what caused the uproar. Director Lou Ye provides a graphic
portrayal of the events that took place at Tiananmen Square
that led to revolution. The film is held together by lead actress
Lei Hao, who delivers a stunning performance as Yu Hong a student
studying at the prestigious Beijing University during these
epic times. The raw emotion that can be seen through this characters
eyes is just breath-taking and the audience can feel her journey
each and every step of the way. The film seems to be shot in
an almost documentary style, and that furthers the raw and edgy
feel to the film. We are following the revolution through the
eyes of the characters as if we living side by side. If not
for Hao's performance alone, this film is one that needs to
be seen and we should be happy that Lou Ye was able to finally
share his story with audiences around the world.

release of the Shaw Brothers classic The
Magic Blade which is in stores now! Two rival swordsmen

and fend off waves of expert killers during their journey.
► Having conquered the rest of the English-speaking
world, Ireland’s top comedian, Tommy
Tiernan, will release his first U.S. special, “Something
Mental,” on CD from Image Entertainment. “Something Mental”
will also premiere as an hour Comedy Central special on Friday,
March 14. Recorded at The Mercury Theater in Chicago, “Something
Mental” captures Tiernan’s boundless energy taking his audience
on a journey through what the British press called, “the devilish
wonderland of his mind.” Weaving contemplations and observations
on relationships, religion, being Irish and his travels through
the U.S.
► Winner of two 2007 Thailand National
Film Awards, 13: Game
of Death, the latest Dimension Extreme release arrives
on DVD. An intense, dangerous and grotesque game, 13: Game
of Death is adapted from the Thai manga graphic novel My Mania
by director Chukiat Sakweerakul (Pisaj) and stars Thai-American
pop singer and actor Krissada Terrence.
► The Stargate journey continues with Stargate:
The Ark of Truth coming to DVD. This thrilling feature-length
