"I'm Not There" DVD review
by: Kristyn
If you are trying to learn anything about Bob Dylan, the
man then this film is definitely not the best place to start,
however if you would like two hours of information about Bob
Dylan the enigma and legend this film is chock full. The film
takes an experimental look at breaking down all of the elements
of Bob Dylan's life story and allowing the audience to piece
them back together to create a whole person. The only problem
with the film is that you can not take those pieces away very
easily and the whole story seems to be a bit far-fetched.

Kid, Sky King, The Magic Clown, Kids And Company, Junvenile
Jury, The Pinky Lee Show, and Sheena, Queen of the Jungle.
Each DVD from Hiya, Kids!! is designed like a Saturday
morning programming block from the era, with shows for
the very young first on the menu. As the older siblings
"wake up," the programs become more and more
"sophisticated."
► Follow star Ricki Lake's* (Hairspray,
TV's Ricki Lake) personal and intimate childbirth story
in the thought-provoking documentary feature The
Business of Being Born, arriving on DVD on May 6,
2008, from New Line Home Entertainment.
Inspired by their own unique birth experiences, producer
Ricki Lake and director Abby Epstein team up to provide
a nation of mothers-to-be with insight into the process
of childbirth and the various options available when
preparing for life's most special event. From pregnancy
to the miraculous moment of birth, The Business of Being
Born is an entertaining and informative celebration
of the road to motherhood that "should be seen
by every pregnant woman in America" (Jack Mathews,
New York Daily News).
► Get ready for stand-up comedy
straight from the wild, wild Midwest with Image Entertainment's
new DVD and CD release of Drew
Hastings' Comedy Central special "Irked and
Miffed" on May 6th. Deftly balancing a seemingly
endless supply of angst with self-deprecating humor, Drew
Hastings certainly has a style of his own. Get to know
the 6'6" tall comedian-dressed, as always, in his
trademark black suit and horn-rimmed glasses-as he demystifies
middle-aged sex, third grade racism, life on his farm
and the American craze for prescription drugs!
► Men beware! The frighteningly unique
film festival favorite, TEETH, debuts on DVD May
6th, from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company. TEETH
is a fascinating black comedy/horror tale about an innocent
teenager, Dawn, who discovers quite by accident that she
developed choppers in the most unexpected place.

► Directed by Academy Award nominated Todd Haynes (Far
From Heaven), I'm Not There
is a bold narrative that explores the personal and professional
experiences of Bob Dylan, a true American icon. |

► Story
of the Year releases Our
Time Is Now chronicling two years on the road touring.
It's a two-part feature including a never-before-seen look into
the band's writing and recording process, and a home video style
documentary of life on the road.
► Numb- Hudson
Milbank (Matthew Perry) is convinced that he's going insane.
But he's just met the perfect girl (Lynn Collins, The Lake House)
and struggles to be his most charming self. Meanwhile, he frantically
seeks a cure for his anxieties and goes through a string of
therapists who turn out to be crazier than him. Co-starring
Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects) and Academy Award winner Mary
Steenburgen as a hilarious lusty psychiatrist, Numb will warm
the heart of anybody who has ever teetered on the edge of a
breakdown.

► Korn-
Live at Montreux - This spectacular
13-song, 75-minute high-energy Montreux debut from 2004 features
the original Korn lineup-guitarist Brian "Head"
Welch, drummer David Silveria, singer Jonathan Davis, guitarist
James "Munky" Shafer and bassist Reginald "Fieldy"
Arvizu-amazingly turning the famous Stravinski Auditorium
into a moshpit for the first and only time. Between the onstage
mayhem resulting in a wild melee of organized chaos and the
demonstrative, vociferous crowd going certifiably nuts for
Korn's performance, a rare metal transcendence emerged, almost
surrealistic in scope. This is a performance for the ages,
one which includes surprising and effective covers of Pink
Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall" and Metallica's
"One."
► The Great
Debaters - A controversial figure, challenging the
social mores of the time, Professor Melvin Tolson (Washington)
used unconventional and ferocious teaching methods to shape
a debate team at Wiley College, a small African American university
in Texas during the 1930s. Fighting against all odds and paving
their way to success, the team reaches a pivotal moment when
they are faced with one of their greatest challenges yet…
going up against Harvard University's critically acclaimed
national championship debate team.

► In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of
Night of the Living and the upcoming DVD release of George A.
Romero’s latest horror masterpiece Diary
of Dead, we are pleased to announce the winning short
films from five young rising directors selected from a nationwide
contest
launched earlier this year on MySpace.
After hundreds of aspiring amateurs submitted their original
shorts on Myspace to be judged by their peers, ultimately
it was Romero who had to decide on the winners. He handpicked
the top five short films and awarded the grand prize to the
most impressive short, The Final Day, a terrorizing zombie
tale from Paul Del Vecchio (director/producer), David R. Doumeng
(writer/producer), and Douglas Frye (producer).
The remaining four shorts included Deader Living Through
Chemistry, Opening Night of the Living Dead, & Teller
and Run For Your Life. All five selections will be featured
on the May 20th DVD release of Disary of the Dead from the
Weinstein Company and Genius Products.
