September 1st
Leah Andreone makes her triumphant return to the music scene with her new album, Avalanche. Andreone is most famous for her hit "It's Alright, It's Okay". She is excited about the new tracks on her album, especially her debut single "Never Stop Trying".
Marina Chello is a sensation - she writes the majority of her own songs, can sing in five different languages, and her single "Sideline" is getting picked up by radio all over the country, with over 1 million plays on Myspace. Marina is the protégé of famed producer and Bad Boy Records President Harve Pierre, who, along with Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, serves as the executive producer on her forthcoming debut album What's Done is Done, out today!
Roosty rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed will be releasing their seventh studio album, Happiness and All the Other Things, today. They will also be going on tour for the rest of the year and well into 2010 to support the new record.
"The End" is near! Currently adding the final touches to the 2010 album, "Shady Retreat," Peasant is giving us a sneak peak of what is to come with a brand new single entitled "The End." Alongside another breathtaking new track, "Thinking," and Daytrotter's live session version of "The End," Peasant has compiled a charming appetizer to tide us over for the coming months - available as a limited edition 7" vinyl and digitally throughout the U.S. on September 1st. In addition to the brand new Single, Peasant is embarking on a full European tour as well as creating two new music videos in September/October.
Recorded earlier this year, Sweet Tea is Heartless Bastartd's unique collaborative take on classic country and Fat Possum will release the first single digitally later in July, comprising the studio version of "If I Were A Carpenter," and the Ray Price classic "Crazy Arms." A collector's, limited edition white vinyl 7" will be made available in both band's websites and at live shows later in the year; it will hit stores nationwide.
Multi-platinum Epic Records recording artists Chevelle will return with their fifth studio album titled: Sci-Fi Crimes on September 1st. The band's brand new single "Jars" was the number one most added track at rock radio and the single is quickly becoming one of the band's biggest hits to date entering the Top 20 after only two weeks. The Chicago-based trio spent seven weeks co-producing Sci-Fi Crimes with Brian Virtue (Jane's Addiction, 30 Seconds to Mars, Deftones) in Nashville, Tennessee. Chevelle are currently on the road all summer long with Staind and Shinedown where they are previewing some of their new material, alongside hits from their previous releases.
Insane Clown Posse are readying themselves for the release of their tenth full-length album titled Bang! Pow! Boom! due to hit stores today! ICP has released their first single "The Bone", click here to hear it first!
To celebrate Motown's 50th Anniversary, Universal Motown is releasing a 2-Disc compilation featuring the top 50 favorite Motown Classics voted on by the fans. The Motown 50 Fanthology is out on September 1.
September 8th
Boys Like Girls is set to relaese they're sophmore album Love Drunk. Billboard magazine calls "Love Drunk" "an unstoppable hit," and the album's title track has already sold more than 400,000 units. It is a smash at Pop radio, where it just cracked the top 20 on the Top 40 chart and is currently in rotation at more than 100 pop stations. "Love Drunk" is also a Top 20 overall single at iTunes.
After three years is going to come out with their new album titled A Bomb In A Birdcage. The 2cd album is always the hardest to follow up on when you spend your whole life planning your 1st. But Alison Sudol has done exactly what we hope musicians will do: She has challenged herself, and reached heights that even she couldn't imagine.
Rene Lopez will unveil to the world People Are Just People, a collection of thirteen tracks that nods its head to the soul and funk music Prince opened Rene's eyes to. This album is a tribute to Rene's musical roots. It took him years to come full circle and his journey was long.
September 9th
Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music are delighted to announce the release of the entire original Beatles catalogue, which has been digitally re-mastered for the first time, for worldwide CD release on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 (9-9-09), the same date as the release of the widely anticipated "The Beatles: Rock Band" video game. The process took a team of engineers at Abbey Road Studios four years of utilizing state of the art recording technology, alongside vintage studio equipment, to create these amazing re-masters.
September 15th

Jupiter One's Sunshower blurs the line of contemporaries and legends. The band's highly-anticipated sophomore effort will be released on September 15th!

By any standard, Bruce Hornsby has built one of the most diverse and adventurous careers in contemporary music. Drawing from a vast wellspring of American musical traditions, the singer/pianist/composer/bandleader has created a large and remarkably accomplished body of work that's employed a vast array of stylistic approaches, while maintaining the integrity, virtuosity and artistic curiosity that have been hallmarks of his work from the start. Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers new album Levitate is available September 15, 2009.
Certainly one of the most feel-good rock n' roll comeback stories of recent times is that of Canadian heavy metal band Anvil. On September 15, new album This is Thirteen will finally see proper national distribution on CD and vinyl via VH1 Classic Records.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, hip-hop phenomenon KiD CuDi releases his first studio album, Man On The Moon: The Guardian. Cudi, who is signed to GOOD Music, already has two hits under his belt with "Day 'n' Night" and "Make Her Say" featuring Common and Kanye West.
London-based rock band The Rifles are set to release their N. American debut, GREAT ESCAPE, on September 15; the foursome will celebrate by bringing their rollicking live show to the US for a handful of tour dates staring September 22 in Philadelphia, PA
Mazzy Star lead singer Hope Sandoval has teamed up with My Bloody Valentine's Colm O'Ciosoig for her sophomore album Through The Devil Softly, out on September 29.
The wait is over and Trustkill band It Dies Today are set to release their long awaited album Lividity, out September 15. Look for the band to kick off a tour with Vanna and Arsonists get all the girls on September 10 in support.
Q-Tip a legendary hip-hop artist is going to come out with a new album titled Kamaal The Abstract. His long-delayed album, slated originally for release in 2001 is finally going to drop September 15. A musical hybrid, Kamaal was commendably avant-garde at the time of its creation. Amazingly, its even more apropos in 2009; given the dearth of musical merit and capable MCs in todays hip-hop, the time is ever-so-right for Tip.
Rising Brit-Pop sensation Gary Go will be releasing his self-titled debut album on September 15. With his geek-chic style and earnest, heartfelt ballads, Gary Go is quickly becoming the newest hero of the UK pop scene with rave reviews and a fiercely devoted following. His self-produced first album and the lead single "Wonderful," which the BBC calls a "shimmering slice of sing-along song craft," are climbing the charts and have earned him the opening spot on Lady Gaga's upcoming European tour.
September 22nd
Up and coming Toronto indie post-rock five-piece, Make Your Exit, will release their sophomore EP, Remind Me the Reason I Came, independently September 22nd, 2009. The much anticipated follow up to their debut eponymous release, showcases the band's most creative and forward thinking songwriting to date.
After just one day on the market, Brand New's album, Daisy, is sitting pretty towards the top of the iTunes charts at number 4. While chart position may not be of the utmost importance to a band like Brand New, it is a testament to the quality of the album they've produced for the world to hear. With each album review a new comparison is made between Brand New and the likes of Modest Mouse, Radiohead, The Jesus Lizard, My Bloody Valentine and a slew of other '90s alternative and indie rock icons. The reality of Daisy is that, "the remnants of pop-punk have dissipated" (StrangeGlue.com) and fans are left with what Slant Magazine called, "an ambitious leftfield stunner" and an an album that "explodes without warning" (SPIN). Hip-Hop legends the Beastie Boys re-release their smash album Hello Nasty on September 22nd. Hits off of this album include "Intergalactic" and "Body Movin' ". There are 21 new tracks and skits available on this remasterd edition.

Platinum recording artists Tokio Hotel will release sophomore album, Humanoid, in October. "Automatic," the first single from the follow-up to 2008's smash US debut, Scream, will be available for download on September 22nd!

Danish rock band Kashmir release their first album in the United States, Petite Machine. The rockers are already popular in Europe, selling more than 500,000 albums to date. Kashmir have also won several Danish music awards. Their new CD features tracks off of their last two albums and is being released September 22nd.
Black Gives Way to Blue is Alice In Chains' first new studio release in more than 10 years. The quartet (guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney, bassist Mike Inez and guitarist/vocalist William DuVall) recorded the album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters) at Studio 606 in Northridge, CA and Henson Studios in Hollywood.
KSM have unveiled the final cover art for their debut album, Read Between The Lines, due out on September 22nd! September 26th
Columbia Records proudly announces the release of Love Is The Answer, the eagerly-awaited new studio album from Barbra Streisand. September 29th
Renowned house Bad Boy Bill will release his second single off his full-length debut, The Album, on September 29, along with 6 remixes of the track from Dave Aude, Tony Arzadon and Bill himself. "Do What You Like" features the commanding vocals of Alyssa Palmer and has all the makings of an instant club hit: funky and futuristic with slick production and racing rhythm.
Radio Disney marks the debut album from Selena Gomez & the Scene with special programming, promotions, and an album sneak preview beginning on September 21. Songs from "Kiss and Tell" to Lead Up to Album’s Planet Premiere on September 29, and Selena Gomez & the Scene Take Over with Ernie D and Co-Host Top 30 Countdown With Jake.

Breaking Benjamin releases their fourth studio album, Dear Agony. The first single, "I Will Not Bow", features clips from Bruce Willis' new film Surrogates (9/25). Breaking Benjamin is a rock band hailing from Pennsylvania.

Factory 25 is set to release Damon & Naomi's 1001 Nights DVD and Limited LP/DVD Bundle on September 29th.

 

Chris Bell, one of the founders of the band Big Star, only recorded one full-length solo album, and now Rhino Handmade is releasing said album, I Am the Cosmos, in a 2-cd deluxe edition

 

Metal Blade Records is stoked to release Austrian Death Machine's sophomore album, Double Brutal. This double-disc album crams in as much headbanging, vein pumping metal tracks as the band's first album, Total Brutal. Band members Ahhnold and Tim Lambesis provide music and vocals for metal heads to jam to. This album features covers of several metal classics, including hits from Metallica.
The Avett Brothers are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated American Recordings/Columbia Records debut, I and Love and You, which hits stores on Tuesday. I and Love and You was recorded in Malibu, California and produced by multi-Grammy Award winning producer, Rick Rubin. The thirteen songs that make up this new record defy pigeonholing and can best be described as an amalgam of rock, folk, pop and country. The band has spent years touring, recording, performing and perfecting this blend of music styles with their signature lyrics and vocals. I and Love and You will also be available at participating Starbucks company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada and wherever music is sold.
A Clear Blurr going to release their second album Trigonometry! This album will be unlike the bands 1st album. "Our first album was really poppy and it was very natural for us at that time" Tom says, the bands voclaist,"All the songs were a day in the life of us, high school students, so of course we touched upon different subjects from girls to girls to, um, girls. Trigonometry is heavier with more complex harmonies, but is still energetic."
Alice In Chains will be releasing Black Give Way To Blue in stores. Alice In Chains are giving fans a sneak preview of their highly anticipated upcoming album Black Give Way To Blue (Virgin/EMI). Black Gives Way To Blue has been praised by Revolver for its "dense tapestry of heavy guitars and soaring melodies" and Reuters wrote "the heavy guitars, submerged vocals and thunderous rhythm section assures fans that the band has lost none of its menace." After a string of sold out shows in the U.S. Alice in Chains will embark on a UK/European tour starting in November.

Singer/songwriter Tyrone Wells is the latest act to gain exposure on the hit TV show Grey's Anatomy. His song "Sink or Swim" was recently featured in the promos for the sixth season premiere on September 24th. Watch the commercial spot featuring "Sink or Swim" on YouTube, and then snag the track on iTunes.

Agnes Carlsson is the youngest-ever winner of Sweden's Pop Idol, and is now taking the world by storm with her infectious enthusiasm, sparkling energy and stunning vocal ability. She just released a new song, "Release Me."
Deluka has been a blogger favorite since the world has gotten introduced to them through their single "Cascade." Now, finally you can purchase the EP digitally with 5 tracks, including "Cascade"
Singer-songwriter John Lefebrve recently composed his 29-song debut opus, Psalngs, which is currently available for free download on Lefebvre’s website. Releasing a 29-song debut for free is a rather ambitious undertaking for any artist, but perhaps just as noteworthy is how the project came to fruition, as the Canadian-born Lefebvre recorded the entire project in Los Angeles while awaiting trial on charges brought by the US Justice Department.


Virginia natives Boys Will Be Boys have got their own style of power-pop down to a science. Their sugary sweet blend of songs combined with an energetic stage presence and charismatic personalities makes them a force to be reckoned with in their music scene. Their new EP titled "The Release" (for fans of bands like The Friday Night Boys & Stereo Skyline) is now available for download!

One Eskimo, led by singer, songwriter, Kristian Leontiou, is a new band from the UK who just recently released their album, All Balloons. One Eskimo is making their foray in United States, and gaining significant popularity especially with their new twist on combining music with animation. In addition to the music, Warner Bros. is releasing a new animated "visual album" created by One Eskimo and Passion Pictures (the team behind Gorillaz). The visual album follows the journey of the 4 animated band mates and their fictional characters "Little Feather" and "Mr. Tophat". All the animation is set to the music from their new album and will be available on iTunes starting July 27th. Check it out here!
FALLBORN is an exciting new alternative rock band hailing from Orange County, California thatis the nexus of writer-producer-singer Adam Watts and three brothers Nic, Jules, and Matt Rodriguez. They were brought together by a love for song-focused, musically adventurous, alternative rock and found a unique chemistry when they started gigging around O.C. almost five years ago. Ne-Yo's protégé Jadyn Maria releases her first single, "Good Girls Like Bad Boys" featuring Flo-Rida. This is the first single off of her debut album, Man's World. Jadyn Maria, a singer-songwriter from Nashville, caught the attention of superstar Ne-Yo and his management company Compound Entertainment. Ne-Yo had this to say about the up and coming star; "A sweet tone, a gorgeous smile, a bubbly yet strong persona-not to mention a rather strong pen game-made Jadyn Maria just what I was looking for. It's these attributes that will also make her a name you will remember."
San Antonio trio Girl in a Coma follow up their recent "Static Mind" video release with "El Monte," another track from 'Trio B.C.' on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records. "El Monte" was shot in the trio's hometown, and includes local landmarks like Woodlawn Lake and Hogwild Records. Frontwoman Nina Diaz shines on "El Monte," a ballad with lingering arpeggios and pizzicato strings that swell to the climactic bridge. It's a love song with an aching twist:. "I do I do/ I do want to marry you" quickly segues to "Am I just another figure/ To call upon when you're bored/ Am I something else to ignore." The video was directed by Jim Mendiola, along with members of the Texas-based Friday Night Lights TV production team. Watch it here.
Faber and Faber is proud to present the new novel from legendary rock musician Nick Cave, The Death of Bunny Munro, available on September 1st, 2009. The Death of Bunny Munro is a furious, funny, disturbing account of a traveling salesman's last days on earth. Cave will also be appearing on September 14th at the Barnes and Noble Union Square in New York.
Check out Addictive, a new female duo from East London comprised of Aisha Stuart and Louise Bagan. They write and perform some of the hottest Bassline tracks in the UK, and have just come out with a new single.
Stefon Harris brings to Concord Jazz the passionate artistry and astonishing virtuosity that have propelled him into the forefront of the current jazz scene. Urbanus features Blackout, a scintillating ensemble as versed in modern jazz as it is with rhythms, melodies and soundscapes associated with R&B, pop, hip-hop and funk.
Check out the new indie-rock duo SUNBEARS! Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, SUNBEARS! recently released an EP called Dream Happy Dreams, and have toured with Mates of State and Black Kids. They are now in the process of writing another album and are playing a few live shows in support of Dream Happy Dreams.
