► Sudanese hip hop artist and former child soldier EMMANUEL JAL will be featured in the upcoming part-concert, part-documentary film, "Call and Response: Concert to End Slavery." Filmed at New York's legendary Avatar Studios last May, Jal performs two songs with Moby and Five For Fighting - "Warchild," the title track from Jal's politically aware new album due out May 13, and "Wars," a song that Moby wrote especially for this film. "Wars" intertwines Jal's Moby-written lyrics with Jal freestyling lyrics from his own compelling composition, "Forced To Sin," one of the 13 tracks on "Warchild." (More...)

► Born in Haiti and raised in NY and Miami, Qwote showed his love for music since an early age. Drawing inspiration from artists like Sam Cooke, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Lenny Kravitz, Qwote decided to commit to music and work hard towards his future goals and success. His first break came when he got a chance to work with Slip N Slide’s artist Trina and producer Steve Obas, owner of Final Cut Music Group. His writing skills and charming vocals quickly led him to a record deal with Slip N Slide. To this date, Qwote has collaborated with Trina, Wayne Wonder and Shaggy among others.

While his debut album is still in the works, Qwote is looking forward to collaborating with a stellar roster of producers on his upcoming project. "The album will be about me and my vocals and my skills as a song writer" says Qwote. "I hope the album will please my fans’ minds, bodies and souls."

"Qwote is the kind of pop artist that is going to expand Slip N Slide Records' roster and show the growth of the label." states Slip N Slide’s CEO Ted Lucas. “He will also demonstrate the next level that Slip N Slide Records is going to. This year we are going to have exciting international songs and artists cross barriers that we have never touched before."

Leslie Roy, a 21 year old from Dublin, Ireland is releasing her Debut album Unbeautiful. The album is produced by Pop super-producer Max Martin, and most of the record was co-written by Lesley. She also plays guitar on the entire record.

► Mötley Crüe, the world's most notorious rock band, has revealed that this summer they, along with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, SIXX:AM and Trapt, will head out on the road for what will undoubtedly be the hottest ticket of the year for rock fans - "Crüe Fest '08." The tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off on July 1st and will hit over 40 major North American and Canadian cities by the end of August. Fans that can't wait for this weekend's online sale can get their tickets early by going to TheRockvine.com. On-site activities will include a 2nd "Stage" presented by Rock Band where fans attending the show can play the part of "rock star" while playing the game. A special Crüe Fest CD featuring tracks from all of the bands on the tour will be available exclusively at Best Buy beginning June 17th. The song is a duet between Levi and Debby Holiday, whose voice you may have heard on the FX television series "Dirt" or in Paramount Pictures Musical "Dreamgirls."

Tokio Hotel have just unveiled the latest installment of their Tokio Hotel TV series. The newest webisode, and the first shot on U.S. soil, gives a behind-the-scenes look into the band's travels to Los Angeles, exploring on Melrose Ave. and their sold-out concert at the world famous Roxy!

 
Prior to the May 6th release of their album you can catch Tokio Hotel live on May 3rd at Day 1 of The Bamboozle. Headlining the day's festivities include pop-punk heavy hitters Jimmy Eat World and Paramore along with hip-hop's favorite Dogg - Snoop Dogg!
