Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce the releases
of Live In Orlando by The Funk Brothers, on CD and DVD.
They toiled in obscurity for 13 years making hit after
hit for Berry Gordy who demanded assembly-line efficiency.
Guitarist Eddie Willis, bassist Bob Babbitt and drummer
Uriel Jones called that studio basement “The Snakepit.”
Everyone else knew it as “Hitsville USA.” They have played
on more #1 recordings than anyone else in the world.
Ever since the feature film Standing In The Shadows Of
Motown let the world know that The Funk Brothers were
still funkin’ it up with the same kind of dedication they
brought to their dayjobs (while jamming at Millie’s Chit
Chat Lounge late into the Detroit night), these three
have finally been reaping their just rewards, stepping
in front of the curtain and laying down the grooves for
appreciative audiences around the world.
Filmed in front of a ready-to-rock New Year’s Eve crowd,
with material made famous by the likes of Marvin Gaye,
The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Gladys Knight
& The Pips, Martha & The Vandellas, Jackie Wilson,
Junior Parker & The Allstars, Smokey Robinson &
The Miracles and more, this spectacular funkfest includes
13 songs in 90 minutes (DVD) and comes complete with intimate
interviews of all three musicians.
