Shannon Moore

Shannon Moore has been compared to The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, Aimee Mann, KT Tunstall and Sheryl Crow to name a few, but ultimately has a style all her own. Shannon defiantly knows how to deliver a song and captivate an audience.

Shannon is a stunning songwriter because she wraps a rich tapestry of truth with her lyrics and keeps her haunting and powerful voice tinged with a knowing sense of humor and honesty

Shannon's debut album "Evaporate" is set for release in March, 2007

Bio

Born and raised in Houston, Shannon received her first guitar at the age of 10 and completed her first song When It Rains by the age of twelve.

Shannon's first band, Deep Julia, toured the States and Canada extensively and racked up considerable critical acclaim. Their popularity landed them the opening act for Radiohead, Peter Frampton and Jewel to name a few. They also headlined in the majority of the top Vancouver clubs and venues. A full album never materialized and Shannon and the band soon went their separate ways.

As a solo artist, Shannon has an impressive list of movie and television credits. Her songs can be heard in movies including Angels With Angles (InVision Motion Picture Group), Lifetime's Original Movie Confessions of an American Bride, This Time Around (Disney), Midnight Blue (Orion), Showtime's One Kill and many more. Her television credits include: Felicity (WB), Meet My Folks (NBC) and MTV's Real World. She also had 8 of her songs included in Canada's exceptionally popular television drama Madison. Currently, Shannon's tracks appear in ABC's General Hospital and One Life To Live.

Review
- Julie

Whether you're jammin' in your car down the freeway or attending an intimate dinner with a few close friends, Shannon Moore's new album, Evaporate, delivers music that's perfect for the rainy days or the sunny ones! Her candid lyrics and deep vocals link together creating ten songs that can alter moods just by changing tracks.

Moore's style has Aimee Mann, or even a low-key version of Sheryl Crow, written all over it. While the actual range of her voice does not change too much throughout the album, it is the strangely relaxing, "Listen to You," that contains a thoughtful melody which sneaks up the listener. Speckled within the album are good arrangements of electric guitar that accentuate certain songs real well. The upbeat song, "Let It Go," is definitely the highlight, blasting forth a happy beat and catchy chorus. "Perfect Place," dazzles as the album's best ballad.

Shannon Moore represents an artist sending out some strong, meaningful lyrics to her audience. And let's face it, instant credibility is presented to Moore for releasing a CD without synthesized beats and over polished vocals like other female singers in her genre. Overall, Evaporate is an example of some quality rock n' roll. It is a successful attempt at recording a mixture of real music with raw talent. PCM predicts Shannon Moore's record won't be likely to evaporate into music thin air anytime soon! (Excuse the pun, couldn't help myself!)
