| Having conquered
the rest of the English-speaking world, Ireland’s top comedian,
Tommy Tiernan, will release his first U.S. special, “Something
Mental,” on CD and DVD from Image Entertainment. “Something
Mental” will also premiere as an hour Comedy Central special
on Friday, March 14.
Recorded at The Mercury Theater in Chicago, “Something
Mental” captures Tiernan’s boundless energy taking his
audience on a journey through what the British press called,
“the devilish wonderland of his mind.” Weaving contemplations
and observations on relationships, religion, being Irish
and his travels through the U.S. Tommy’s stories blend
a playful absurdity with an intellectual depth that cuts
with a philosophical edge.
The “Something Mental” CD features Tommy’s hour performance
with an additional bonus track. In addition to the hour
performance of the main program, the “Something Mental”
DVD features over 30 minutes of extras including “Walk
in the Windy City,” “Interview With Tommy” and “Meet The
Badger: Outtakes.”
