Rock Gone Wild 2009 Music Festival

Rock Gone Wild 2009 includes performances from the bands Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Skid Row, Candlebox, Tantric, Kix, Saxon, Great White, Hardcore Superstar, Saigon Kick, Tigertailz, Lizzy Borden, Dangerous Toys, Helix, Rhino Bucket, Junkyard and the Gypsy Pistoleros with many more to come! This first time 4 day festival taking place August 20th-23rd, 2009 is sure to make music history!

Rock Gone wild is 4 days of hard rock n' roll debauchery at its finest. The festival, sure to be Iowa's preeminent music destination of 2009, will be celebrating four decades of hard rock and metal and will feature more than 40 rock legends on two stages, along with regional support acts from around the globe! It's taking place at Freedom Park festival grounds, located at 2507- 160th Avenue in Algona, Iowa.

PCM spoke to concert promoter Allyson Crawford about the upcoming concert, check out some Q&A with the organizer of this concert to learn more about this future show!

Q: How was this idea born behind the festival? Who put it together?

A: Like many ideas now-a-days, this one was born over the Internet. I was chatting with a friend of mine over the Internet and talking about how it'd be cool to have a rock festival. We talked about who we'd have and what we'd do different from other concerts. We thought it'd be neat to have two women pull off a concert like that.

Q: What's going on with the roster? Are acts still booking? Is it done?

A: No way, it's 1/4 of the way done! There's so many more names to be added. We haven't announced the headliners yet, we're waiting and I think people will be excited and surprised when they find out who they are. We are mixing it up and having everything. No other festival in America does that! Things are moving along nicely and really smoothly for such a big project.

Q: How many people are hoping to draw to the event?

A: People always wait to see who the headliners are before they buy tickets, you know? We'd love to have 10,000 people come out and party with us for four days. But ticket sales have been steady!

Q: What types of vendors and side events are you planning on having?

A: We'll have camping, people can come in and stay on the grounds for 4 days if they'd like. We'll have booths with activities and food vendors, as well.

Check out where the festival will be held!
