Artist Spotlight: Crooked x

(November 2008) - Rave reviews are pouring in ahead of the January 27th release of Crooked X, the self-titled full-length debut by the
talented young rockers from Coweta, Oklahoma! PCM's staff writer Kristyn spoke to Josh from the new group! They toured with KISS in Europe and played and toured Stateside and hot young rock artists Black Tide and Black Stone Cherry as well as classic rock legends Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper.

The 14-year-old shredders have been filming an MTV reality special, "Start a Band, Rock the World." Check out their MySpace page for more information and read below for some excerpts from our PCM interview with the bass player of Crooked X below:

On what it was like to be filmed for an MTV reality documentary show: "It was really cool, how many people get to do that?"

On having songs in the game video game Rockband: "It's so awesome! Everyone plays that game now-a-days! We all play the game. We can't beat our song though, it's hard to do!"

On their main musical influences: "Pantera. Metallica. Sound Garden!"

On what they do in their spare time: "We all home school on the computer right now. Music is really our hobby. Playing, performing and writing the tracks.

How they describe their sound to a first time listener: "Heavy rock. It's a tough one. Hmm.. Southern groove metal. (laughs)"
