Review By Sean
There is one word that can sum up this album: painful.
My ears hurt when listening to it. The singer is constantly
whining in strung out vocal tracks that do nothing
but promote the sale of Excedrin. The music is off
doing its own thing. It's either going a million miles
a second, like the accompaniments from Revolver on
speed, or go half the speed of the rest of song, like
Dark Side of the Moon if it was sung by an Emo band.
The last two tracks are tolerable. The music is more
under control. Things seem to come together more than
the anarchic sideshow of the first three tracks. There
is the same disunity in the music, but it's not as
extreme making it listenable. I confess that I only
gave this album one listen because I just couldn't
subject ears to a second listen.

| Annuals - Such Fun |
|
|
Review By Kevin
Though, I had not heard Annuals' previous work, I
was pleasantly surprised with Such Fun. However,
I feel that this album was wrongly named. This release
is much more than fun, enovoking a myriad of emotions
througout the entire album. Such Fun opens up with
"Confessor" a track I feel is eerily reminiscent
of Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head.
The album is packed with beautiful harmonies accompanied
by strong yet soothing rhythms, and this is best exemplified
through "Hardwood Floor." All in all, Such
Fun delivers with a solid, complete album perfect
for a night time drive.
