The creative forces behind Day’s
Difference new CD "Numbers" (my advance
copy did not give songwriting or musician credits) do
not name U2 as one of their influences, I'd be surprised.
I heard echoes of the legendary band in some of the
guitar work and vocal stylings way back there behind
the modern rock sound.
Now don’t go calling the same law firm that went
after George Harrison for "My Sweet Lord,"
these guys have their own sound and style, I just
wanted to try to give Days Difference a frame of reference.
This CD is an enjoyable rock record, with solid songwriting,
well-produced arrangements, tight playing and singing
from somewhere deep down in that place that makes
a band take the stage at 12:30 on a Tuesday night
when everyone in the club is either asleep or drunk
waiting trying to make that last pick-up attempt before
catching the last subway train home.
Lend Day’s Difference an ear - you will be glad you
did.
