| Ella Fitzgerald - Love Letters

The late Ella Fitzgerald’s album Love Letters from Ella,
was released in celebration of what would have been
the singers 90th birthday. Let’s face it; she is one
of the best jazz singers of all time. With the right
selection of songs, this album is obviously going to
go over well. The familiarity of “Witchcraft”, “Please
Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone”, and “I’ve got the
World on a String” had me tapping my finger along.
But listening to the music alone I realized something;
these songs were mostly recorded between the late 1950s
through to the 1970s, why did they sound like they were
recorded yesterday? Thanks to a bit of additions and
alterations they did enhance the sound a bit. I enjoyed
listening to the album alterations or not. And sorry
Ella we will talk about you when you’re gone.
