| John Mayer -Where The Light
Is: Live in Los Angeles |

This album tells a story. There are three acts to
it. The first is the bare-bones Mayer: him and a guitar.
It shows off the singer/songwriter aspect. You can
hear the raw feeling of the lyrics without being distracted
by fancy orchestrations.
The second act is my favorite. I like to call it the
gritty soul of the album. The set with the Trio is
even better then Try! They start with a thumping version
of "Everyday I Have the Blues" that would
make B.B. King proud. Mayer's playing on Bold As Love
is something you will not want to miss either.
The third act is dry, but that's only because it
followed the second. Here we get excellent live versions
of all our favorite studio recordings. Pay special
attention to "Gravity," its not one you'll
soon forget. Overall the album is excellent, but I
want more of the Trio.

I didn't think after Room For Squares, Continuum
and John Mayer Trio's Try! that an album released
from John Mayer could get any better, but the man
has really outdone himself this time around. I've
been a John Mayer fan for a long time. In fact, he's
probably the artist the appears the most on my personal
iPod. I was thrilled when this album, Where The
Light Is: Live in Los Angeles was released. The
two-disc performance album is almost like a greatest
hits record. It features an acoustic set, one with
John Mayer trio and a set with John and his full band.
It's absolutely an amazing album and Mayer's voice
has never sounded so good. If you choose to buy any
John Mayer album, get this one. It's the best of the
best!

| John Mayer - Try! John Mayer
Trio: Live In Concert |

Review By Sean
This is quite frankly one of the best albums I have
heard in years. The John Mayer Trio captures the intensity
and groove of what rock blues should sound like. His
original material is so much more developed on this
album then on any other. Take this version of "Daughters,"
it completely surpasses any other recording I have
ever heard.
On this album Mayer has free reign. He can show off
his amazing talents without restrictions from record
companies. After all those years he really has been
holding back. Shame on you record companies, we should
have had this years ago.

It's really great to experience a different side
of John Mayer's music once in awhile. Have you ever
wondered what he'd be like if he wasn't a solo act?
I love that he has this side project, The John Mayer
Trio, to also keep creative and make music. With his
two sidekicks, Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino, John
Mayer's Try! is an awesome live album. The
chemistry between the three musicians on stage is
undeniable and a listener can't help but feel they
are just sitting on a jam session. One can truly tell
that they are enjoying themselves up on stage and
are happy covering some of Mayer's songs while also
throwing in some new ones for the audience to enjoy.
Definitely, definitely check this album out!
