For example, the difference between life and death for some American soldiers hung on what they ate for breakfast, the interpretation of a weather forecast, or the design of a buckle strap.

Food Network Star - 7th Season Premieres June 5 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on The Food Network

Food Network’s hit series will put 15 finalists through intense tests of talent, charisma and culinary prowess en route to the ultimate dream job: hosting their own Food Network show. Of course, before claiming the ultimate prize, finalists must impress the ultimate host and judge of the show, Bobby Flay, as well as the newest addition to the judge’s panel, Giada de Laurentiis. Not only will finalists have to compete in various restaurants throughout LA in this Sunday’s premiere, but throughout the season contestants will face challenges such as food trucks, fireworks, and impromptu dinner parties.

Switched at Birth - Premieres June 6 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on ABCFamily

The series tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. Things come to a dramatic head when both families meet and struggle to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.

Behind Mansion Walls - Premieres June 6 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Investigation Discovery

The series shares stories of murder and mystery on a grand scale, where the victims and suspects range from oil tycoons to real estate moguls, self-made billionaires to heiresses of family dynasties.Despite the lengths people may take to secure more money and power, their greed eventually leads them to what they deserve - a wealth of time behind bars.

Bobby Fischer Against the World - Premiers June 6 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO

In 1958, 14-year-old Robert James “Bobby” Fischer stunned the chess world by becoming the youngest grandmaster in history, launching a career that would make him a legend. Over the next decade and a half, his breathtaking rise to the top of the game riveted the world and inspired an international chess phenomenon. Then, at the apex of his success, Fischer disappeared from the public eye. This documentary chronicles the chess master’s meteoric rise, culminating in the historic 1972 match against Boris Spassky in Iceland, as well as his shocking withdrawal from competition and the paranoia that derailed his life.

The temperature drops as the pressure mounts on the dramatic second half of DEADLIEST CATCH's seventh season, airing Tuesdays at 9 PM ET on Discovery Channel. The captains and crew begin the 'Opilio' or snow crab winter fishing season and grow weary of the violent sea. As spirits continue to fall with the arrival of a historic arctic storm, all fishing is put on hold. Facing injuries, illnesses and flaring tempers, the success of their catch season will come down to an intense battle of man vs. nature.

This Lifetime Television's Original Movie follows the story of the town of Innocence, Mississippi, where a serial killer threatens the serenity of the sleepy town and its people. Toddlers and Tiaras - 4th Season Premieres June 15 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on TLC

With two of the fiercest competitors in the show's history, the season premiere promises to be the most intense one yet. Drop Dead Diva - Third Season Premieres June 19 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime

The season opener will once again be a celebrity-packed celebration as entertainer Paula Abdul, reprises her role as Jane's voice of reason to give her some sage advice about her relationship with Grayson. LeAnn Rimes also guest stars as the estranged soon-to-be ex-wife of a hard-partying celebrity Nick Zano, who is on trial for a hit-and-run case that Jane takes on. Additionally, the premiere episode will feature talk-show host Wendy Williams as a judge and Extra's Mario Lopez as himself, and a musical dream sequence with the cast of Drop Dead Diva, choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance's Keith "Tyce" Diorio.

Sex Crimes Unit - Premieres June 20 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO

Directed by Lisa F. Jackson, the documentary takes a look inside this division of the New York District Attorney’s office, which was the first of its kind in the nation. Enjoying unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, the film follows attorneys as they evaluate cases, track down evidence and witnesses, and argue cases in court before a jury. The film also chronicles the resolution of a 16-year-old rape case.

I Didn't Know I was Pregnant - Premieres on June 22 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on TLC

An intense series that reveals the astonishing stories of women who conceive and carry their babies all the way to labor and delivery while never even knowing they were pregnant. The show focuses on the life of Philip Fry, a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999 and wakes up 1,000 years later with a fresh start at life at Planet Express, an intergalactic delivery company. There he meets love interest Leela, a sexy cyclops with anger management issues, and best friend Bender, a beer-powered kleptomaniac robot.

At the conclusion of season three, vampire king Russell Edgington was buried alive in a pit of concrete, apparently ending his plans for world domination. But what happened to Sookie, who disappeared into a flash of light? Will Bill be able to make things right after breaking Sookie’s heart? And what awaits Eric, who nearly joined Russell in limbo?

Last season’s cliffhanger had our favorite quick-change artist surrendering to the FBI for the murder of Pilar Zuazo. We pick up the new season as she has just completed a three-year stint in Federal prison. She’s now in New York, but no free bird - she must complete her probation in a strictly monitored halfway house, which means she’ll have to deal before curfew. A now bolder Nancy has to re-start the business from scratch. Meanwhile, the boys - Andy (Justin Kirk), Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) - who were camped out in Copenhagen - are now Big Apple-bound with Doug (Kevin Nealon) in tow, of course and will be stirring up major trouble.

Hot Coffee - Documentary Premieres June 27 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO

Seinfeld mocked it. Letterman put it on one of his Top Ten lists. More than 15 years later, the McDonald’s coffee case continues to be cited as a prime example of how citizens use “frivolous” lawsuits to take unfair advantage of America’s legal system. But is that an accurate portrayal of the facts? First-time filmmaker and former public interest lawyer Susan Saladoff uses the infamous legal battle that began with a spilled cup of coffee to investigate what’s behind America’s zeal for tort reform.

Are You Fitter than a Senior? - Series Premiere Monday, June 27, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Discovery Fit & Health

Every week on the show, four young adults are forced to quit their usual sedimentary lifestyles to see if how physically fit they really are. Swapping out fast food for healthy eating, the young adults are pushed to their physical and emotional limits. At the end of the life-changing week, the participants do a head-to-head battle against four golden oldies in a physical challenge out if they really are fitter than a senior.

The Supernaturalist - Premieres June 29 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Discovery Channel

Dan White performs mind-blowing magic: manipulating physical objects, performing surprising card tricks and making items appear from seemingly thin air. All of this, he admits, is merely an illusion. White has a mission: to find REAL magic. On the show, White travels to a remote corner of the planet and finds himself in a place where magic isn't just tricks. It is believed to be very real… and even dangerous.

Locals in the Himalayan country of Nepal believe there are monks within its borders who use their powers to harm anyone who crosses their path. White relies on his talents as an illusionist to open doors normally closed to outsiders in an attempt to find one of these feared monks and – hopefully – witness his true magic. White’s mission will introduce him to many people, each getting him one step closer to the men in the mountains.

Whether extracting ingredients from a block of ice or using a Swiss Army knife as a lone cooking utensil, three chefs are pushed to their physical and mental limits in each episode of Extreme Chef. The series takes chefs out of their kitchen comfort zone to test their wits, adaptability and artistry as they must adapt to extreme conditions and unpredictable factors including swimming across a lake for ingredients and constructing a makeshift stove in only 30 minutes. In a series of arduous challenges, the competitors must impress judges and various guest critics with their out-of-box culinary masterpieces to earn the title Extreme Chef.

Ugly Americans - Premieres June 30 at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Comedy Central

Take New York City, add every horrifying beast, science-fiction freak and fantasy faerie, shake thoroughly, and you've got "Ugly Americans," an animated series that follows Mark Lilly, a social worker at the Department of Integration, as he helps new citizens both human and "other" adapt to hectic life in the Big Apple. There are easier tasks than soothing a vengeful mummy, being a slave in Satan’s dark army and trying to circumcise wizards, but Mark proves he’s up to the challenge, even if his co-workers are as incompetent as ever.
