Review: Okay,
we know our pictures aren't super fabulous. But
we wanted to give you an idea of what goes down
at a Lady GaGa concert. Think she's just some starlet
that dances on stage while lip sync-ing along to
a few pre-recorded songs? Nope, you won't find that
from GaGa.
Her show is a mix of
eclectic ensembles (see the bubble dress below),
hunky backup dancers and club bumpin' beats provided
by a DJ also on stage with Gaga. She certainly has
an Andy Warhol-esqe feel to her show. During costume
changes, a large video screen (seen above)
is on stage that plays several recorded short videos
that are open to interpretation.
Gaga has a strong and
confident aura about her on stage. She wasn't afraid
to both curse about the state of the music industry
and wave/blow kisses to her adoring fans. These
fans being largely young high school and college
aged students. Many chose to dress up in 80s style,
neon clothing and sparkles to match! People got
very creative. Crowd favorites were certainly, "Just
Dance," and "Pokerface," yet most
of the crowd was able to sing right along with Lady
Gaga to songs like, "LoveGame," and "Money
Honey." Gaga recognized that too and laughed
about not being able to throw her fans off.
"Let's have
a sing-sing-sing-along together, okay?"
she said in a high pitched, cute voice to the crowd.
Her persona on stage is both commanding and fierce
while maintaining a level of femininity and fragility.
I was certainly impressed and had a great time dancing
to all her upbeat songs. - Julie
2nd Opinion:
I can definitely agree with all of Julie's sentiments
above about what a truly amazing performance Lady
Gaga gave while visiting us in Philadelphia. It
was completely apparent just how much time and energy
Gaga puts into to making sure that fans recieve
a memorable concert experience, with the elaborate
sets, well-choreographed dance numbers, and amazing
costumes. This is one show you will not forget anytime
soon! Also, what was impressive to me is her ability
to pick things up and then slow them down at percisely
the right moments throughout the night. The middle
of the set consisted of Gaga behind the piano singing
the slowed-down lounge version of her hit "Poker
Face" and previewing a new song called "Future
Love"! Gaga then proceeded to kick it back
into high gear with "Just Dance" and "Boys,
Boys, Boys". Hat's off to the reigning Princess
of Pop, the show was fabulous!

"I've
had a little bit too much
All of the people start to rush.
Start to rush by.
A dizzy twister dance
Can't find my drink or man." - Just Dance

"You
know I appreciate the finer things,
But it's not what makes me happiest baby
{I can do without it babe}
Your tender loving's more than I can handle,
Never burn out this candle baby, baby"
- Money Honey

"I'm
not lying, I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunning!
Just like a chick in the casino, I take your bank
before I pay you out. I promise this! Promise this!
Check this hand cause I'm marvelous!" -
Poker Face
