Helen Mirren was just named "Body of the Year"!
The 66-year-old, Academy Award Winning Actress, beat out 20-
and 30-somethings in a recent L.A. Fitness poll of more than
2,000 people. While the young starlets grace the covers of
popular magazines bearing all in tiny bikinis and cropped
tops, it's an older and much wiser woman who most women envy.
Mirren beat out Elle MacPherson, Jennifer Lopez and Pippa
Middleton for the title, earning nearly 18% of the votes.
MacPherson, 48, was runner up with 10%. Kelly Brook came in
third, followed by Jennifer Lopez in fourth and Cheryl Cole
in fifth.
"It's great to see the public celebrating bodies of
all shapes and sizes, and proving that you really can look
fabulous over 40 and 50," said L.A. Fitness marketing
director Tony Orme.
Helen has aged gracefully, not obsessing over what she eats
or how many hours she logs at the gym. She credits vitamins,
a healthy diet, exercise and plently of sleep for her good
looks. "I go through phases of exercising, if I start
getting puffy when I go upstairs, I'll force myself back into
minimalist exercise...I've gone through many diets that are
also very boring. You stop eating, and that's what makes you
lose weight: not eating. But as you get older, losing weight
doesn't make your body look better, don't you think?"
 Whether
you think she deserves to be named "Body of the Year"
or not, you can't deny the woman looks amazing. Remember this
photograph taken a few years ago of Helen vacationing in a
red hot bikini? Seriously, how many women look like that in
their 60's! Helen is a role-model for women of all ages.
