2003's Most Popular Song Hits

Pop Culture Madness Reviews are Brought To You By You Buying Stuff Through Our Amazon Links! 1. 1. Crazy In Love - Beyonce Featuring Jay-Z - As the lead single in Beyonce's debt solo album Dangerously in Love. The horn hook comes from a 1970s song "Are You My Woman (Tell me So)" by the Chi-Lites. Rich Harrison wrote the song which was originally titled "Crazy Right Now", but Harrison was waiting for the right artist to come along. Jay-Z (current husband to Beyonce) added a rap verse later in the production with lyrics that he did off the top of his head.

2. Hey Ya! - OutKast - Written and produced by Andre 3000, member of the duo Outkast, Hey Ya! is musically influenced by funk and rock genres, which was a neat mix-up for the hip hop pair. Andre had envisioned the song for months and finally brought the pieces together, improvising some lyrics from a screenplay he had been working on. This catchy song includes the unforgettable lyrics "shake it like a Polaroid picture".

3. Get Low - Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz Featuring Ying Yang Twins - This song allegedly kicked off the sub genre "crunk" (crazy + drunk), setting the bar pretty high in profane hooks and choruses. This song, even the edited radio version, got criticized numerous times for the immense amounts of curse words and sexual/raunchy content, but the beat is undeniable.

4. Stacy's Mom - Fountains Of Wayne - Written by Chris Collingwood and Adam Schlesinger as a tribute to the band The Cars. The content of the lyrics are undeniably unique with the catch line "Stacy's mom has got it going on". This song is also ranked #350 in Blender's list of 500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born.

5. Step In The Name Of Love - R Kelly - This is the 10th single from R. Kelly and took over the R&B charts. This song has also be dubbed the anthem for steppers and dancers, who would have thought?
