Lea Michele and Cory Monteith PCM Interview

Lea Michele (Rachel) Bio:
At just 8 years old, Lea Michele made her Broadway debut as "Young Cosette" in "Les Misérables." Since then, Michele has shared the stage with Broadway greats Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell in "Ragtime" as well as Alfred Molina and the 20th anniversary cast of "Fiddler on the Roof."

Best known for her role as "Wendla" in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of "Spring Awakening," Michele was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance. She was recently nominated for a Teen Choice 09 Award in the Choice TV: Breakout Star Female category.

Michele has also performed at Radio City Music Hall during the Tony Awards with the casts of "Spring Awakening," "Ragtime" and "Fiddler on the Roof." Michele is featured on the cast recordings of these productions. She was last seen as "Eponine" in the star-studded production of "Les Misérables" at the Hollywood Bowl. She has performed solo concerts to sold-out crowds at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in New York and at the Upright Cabaret in Los Angeles.

On the small screen, Michele has appeared on "Third Watch" and "Guiding Light."

Cory Monteith (Finn) Bio:
Before becoming an actor, Cory Monteith held a number of odd jobs as a Wal-Mart greeter, a school bus driver, a roofer and a cab driver. Monteith's small-screen credits include a lead role on the cable series "Kaya," a starring role in the movie of the week "Hybrid" and a recurring role on "Kyle XY." He has also had numerous guest appearances on "Smallville," "Supernatural," "Stargate SG-1," "Flash Gordon" and "Interns."

His film credits include "Final Destination 3," "The Invisible," "Deck the Halls" and "Whisper."

Now that Monteith is living in Los Angeles full-time, he is waiting for a spare moment so that he can learn to surf.

Interview By PCM's Alexa and Kristyn:
Q: How surreal has this mall tour been with the popularity of the show. How has the fan reaction reaction been, and how are you enjoying it?

Cory: It's been surreal. The fan reaction has been incredible. People are so excited about the show, which is amazing considering we've had one episode. Very overwhelming and I'm loving it.

Lea: Yeah, me too. This is awesome. We can't believe that after one episode, we're getting this type of turnout from fans. We're having an awesome time and this is only our third stop. We have like seven more.

Q: In your words, what make "Glee" stand out from other comedy series?

Cory: I said this the other day too. It's the first show to come along to have musical performances in a format relative to the storyline. It really brings music into the show in a really interesting way, and I think that's one of the many reasons that this show is original. I think hopefully we do well. Please watch it.

Lea: I just think the fact that there's really something there for everybody, and that it's really relatable for all ages.

Q: What in your background do you think has prepared you for a show like this? I know that Lea, you've done Broadway, and that Cory, you were on Kyle XY.

Lea: Some of the stuff I've done to help me, but the fact that I've never done TV before is huge thing. As far as certain things, its definately helped me with the singing especially, but I'm not really a dancer so I am starting from scratch there.

Cory: Well like you said Kyle XY, I've been doing the stereotypical american high school portrayal for a couple years on TV, so that feels familiar. The medium feels familiar, but singing and dancing, I have no idea what I am doing. So I'm sort of learning from talented performers like Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison, Broadway stars on the show. It's been a learning curve, but its been a lot of fun.

Q: What can we expect in the future from your characters development wise?

Cory: Make out. Make out sess.

Lea: I have nothing else to say.
