Q: The album How to Call a
Bluff was re-released last week so how happy are you with
the feedback that it's been getting so far? I've been hearing
such great things!
My Favorite Highway: I've been so excited.
We've been all just been floored by the response it's gotten,
the 2 new songs that are on it have done really well. It's
just awesome, and to hear people speak so highly of it is
encouraging.
Q: It's got to be quite an experience when
you're looking from the stage and you can see everyone singing
along to every word. It's kind of like how you know ok yeah
it's a success.
MFH: Yeah exactly! Literally you can judge
how the kids are, and when the kids are singing along you
feel like you've done a good job. It's cool.
Q: How did the signing to Virgin Records
come about? How much of a whirlwind have things been since
then? I know you guys were quite successful with Itunes
and MySpace before that.
MFH: We had placed for Virgin before and
it was turned down. Then we wrote this CD and came back
again and it went well this time. They liked it and it took
off and just it was kind of surprised cause we had been
waiting for so long to get to this point, but they've been
really good to us and it couldn't ask for anything better.
It's a really good feeling.

Q:
How would you best describe your music to a first time listener?
MFH: Rock pop is the easiest way to say it.
It's melody driven and lyrically driven. We want to be inspirational,
kind of encouraging, kind of lift you up kind of music.
Q: So MySpace has been a big tool for you
guys, at least in the beginning. How do you feel about that
as a way to connect to the audience?
MFH: It's amazing because before you had to
go out and mail out to people and go out to people and get
them to like your music by just touring and touring. We started
that whole touring process but we've kind of had a jump start.
I think for bands these days have it easier because you can
just start a MySpace, then people can just come to it. It's
really awesome but it's also flooded the music scene with
bands.
Q: You've had song placement in several MTV
shows. What was it like the first time you heard music on
TV?
MFH: That was good. I was actually with my
sister who loves Laguna Beach and all that. So I was sitting
with her and watching it, and I knew it was going to be on
and I heard it. Even though it was just a 30 sec. clip it
was cool.

Q: I know you guys are out on the road right
now. How is life on the road going. You're going to have some
dates with The Cab coming up.
MFH: Life on the road is good, we all get
along. There are those days where everyone gets a little cranky,
but overall it's a good time. We're all really close Dave's
my cousin so we've grown up together. We know how to work
out our differences. It's nice being signed now because we
have a little bit more money for food, we're not living on
$5 a day. It was rough before but it's not as bad now, it's
actually nice now. I like actually like touring because we
get to see things that we normally wouldn't be able to
Q: Do you have any favorite areas that you've
visited so far?
MFH: So far I really love touring the South,
I think mostly because it's warmer down there. We've been
in the east for the past week, week and a half and when we
usually tour up here the shows are really great, but it's
just cold, and it's been raining for the past week. Today
was the first sunny day.
Q: Who would you guys list as your who your
main musical influences are?
MFH: I'm gonna say Cold Play is a huge influence,
Third Eye Blind is actually a big influence just from growing
up. It was the first band I actually sat down and listened
to. The All American Rejects kind of compare in sound, same
with The Fray.

Q:
If you could share the stage with any band or performer who
would it be?
MFH: Oh my gosh, for me it would be the Kings
of Leon. I love that band. I can't say for the other guys,
probably all the bands I named like Cold Play and Third Eye
Blind. But I would definitely say Kings Of Leon
Q: What's one piece of advice you would give
to aspiring musicians who went through the same things you
guys had to go through?
MFH: Practice and write the songs. Write the
songs that's the biggest thing. You write the song that no
one can deny and you're there. No matter what your bands looks
like, no matter how you guys play if you write a song that's
a hit…I guess we're still waiting on that too. We'll see what
happens, but that's definitely the way to go.
Q: Two questions just for fun…what's your
favorite guilty pleasure song?
MFH: Well a song that gets stuck in my head
all the time that's kind of like a guilty pleasure song is
that 303 song Don't Trust Me. It gets stuck in my head and
I like sing it all day
Q: The other one is who is your favorite celebrity
crush?
MFH: Oh my goodness, Megan Fox

Q: What are you hoping fans and listeners
are taking away from your album?
MFH: I hope that it can be encouraging, help
you get up and follow your dream, do what you think you should
be doing, and just getting out there and living life.
Q: What's next on the horizon? What are some
of your goals for the summer?
MFH: Tour, tour, and more tour. So we'll be
out on the road, and I guess writing a little bit, but mostly
just getting out there.
Q: So for a little word association. What's
the first word that comes to mind when you hear pop culture?
MFH: Music, because I'm surrounded by it all
the time and that is what pop culture is to me right now
