(February 2009) - PCM's Kristyn spoke with musician and American Idol alum Taylor Hicks! Taylor's upcoming release, The Distance, is due out March 10th, 2009. You can find Taylor in the Broadway production of 'Grease' across the country! He's playing the part of Teen Angel!

He told us that he's enjoying traveling while on this touring production! He shared with Kristyn his thoughts on sticking with theater and acting in the future.

"If the right role comes along, I'd definitely take a hard look at it," said Hicks. "Performing live is where I thrive and I've always been a live performer and entertainer," continued Hicks.

Hicks recently released the single for the new song, "What's Right Is Right," and the feedback from fans has been great so far! "I think the feedback has been great and we are ahead of schedule with where we want to be with radio now which is good. I actually am singing this single as the encore of each 'Grease' performance," explained Hicks.

Fans should expect more of Hicks' personal songwriting on this record. In addition to creating his own music, he made his own record label. "In the way that the music buisness is today, it allows for more control and really live on the edge with your art which creates your drive. For an artist, you have to have that drive aspect, you can't get lazy. If you get lazy, then things don't look good," said Hicks.
